I might end up needing to mount some sort of guard or bumper/deflector in front of the toggle latches to protect them from catching on something when working in the woods.

I might end up needing to mount some sort of guard or bumper/deflector in front of the toggle latches to protect them from catching on something when working in the woods.

My trailer tail gate is set up with a hinge at the top and at the bottom. The top is released with a spring loaded slide mechanism on each side. The two tabs hanging down flip up then yo slide them to the inside to release the top.

The bottom can be released from the tractor seat via a rope tied to a lever on the front of the trailer. Handy for tail gating.

You can see the lever on the left with a control rod running to the back. Pulling the lever rolls back the hinge clamps
