I have been looking at his site for many years and have learned a lot from it. Thought it was time to share a project I built. The original concept came from a couple YouTube videos which I watched many times while taking notes. I needed a dump trailer that could be used with the ATV and Tractor as I have two gravel pits and many roads and hills on my 85 acres. It is a bit heavy for an ATV but strong enough for a full load of gravel.
WHEELS: I wanted a walking beam for rough terrain and ease of pulling. I used VW rear axles with 14 in wheels

FRAME: I wanted a frame solid enough to haul full loads of gravel. ( bit too heavy for my ATV but works)

BODY: A bit heavy with 2x2 square tubing but hasn't bent any yet.

Trying on the body to see how it will fit:

BODY LINNING: I used the steel from a 200 gallon oil tank.

Adding some paint:

Loading with top soil:

For the dump I used a scissor lift with a 3000lb ATV winch. I haven't had a load in it yet that it wouldn't dump while sitting on the seat. The winch is on a plate so I can take it off when not using. ( one bolt holds it in place) I also use the same winch on my log arch. There is a pulley at the top of the post and on the front of the dump body. The cable does the lifting at first than the scissor lift brings it to a steep angle to dump all the load ( sorry I don't have a picture of it ) Both tail gates open left or right or fold down.

I have studied a lot of different trailers with the winch / scissor lift concept and many didn't work and gave up. After trial and error mine works perfect.

Nice to have you here with us comeaump. Thanks for showing your trailer project. I used a UTV dump trailer for a summer and wore the walking beam suspension out. Yours must be better.

it is built heavy enough should last a long time. I used DOM tube and shaft for the hinges. Runs a lot smoother than my ATV at fast speed

When this manufactured trailer walking beam wore out, we replaced it with dom tubing as well. Put grease zerks in it at the same time. Your looks much better than what that manufacturer did.
