I just ran across an ad for this from the local farm supply. Says it is good to keep snow and ice from sticking to snowblower auger and chute. I'm thinking it might also work in the tractor bucket. Cost is $5.49 for a 10 oz spray can.

Has anyone had experience with this product? I searched TBN and didn't see it mentioned anywhere. I know of the ideas from many TBN threads regarding how to prevent snow sticking to buckets and augers. I'm wondering how this product's effectiveness might compare to the other ideas.

Not trying to start a "how to" thread for preventing snow from sticking - there are many of those already. Just interested if anyone has actual experience with this product.

I have used the graphit spray form Trator Supply. It seems to work OK.

Where are you people getting the Dupont stuff?

I just bought two cans from Lowe's, they were close to six dollars each.
If they don't work/help, it wont be the first 12 bucks I have wasted;)

Just coated mine with wd40. Hope it works.

A cheap alternative is to use cooking spray such as Pam.

just cleared about 1500' of driveway. It didnt really seem to make a difference. I still had snow buildup in the blower housing. But then again it 1500' of snow may be a lot for one application, not to mention that i hit some dirt spots. All that probably just washed all the teflon off. I did buy two cans of that stuff. so i will keep trying.

Are there temperature requirements for the application? I use graphite usually and I was told I need to apply it over 60 degrees to get proper adhesion.

Honestly I don't really think it (the graphite) makes a material difference. I look forward to seeing what more comes of the teflon use.

I bought a couple cans of fluid film but I'll pick up a can of snow and ice. I'm not so much worried about the chute but I would like to spray something behind the auger. It builds up plenty of snow back there an either I have to get it out of there or let it melt in the garage. It doesn't see the punishment the chute sees so maybe it'll work better.

If you need 6 can's per storm........... you may want to think about paying someone to plow your driveway??

I sprayed down the blower real good before the blowing session.
I can't say I noticed any difference in the snow coming off from my brushing it with a whisk broom.
I always clean the snow off out side, as to not have it melting in the garage.
I still have a can and a 1/2, I will use it up but won't buy it again.

I tried that tire shine stuff the last storm in my bucket and it worked great.

I have tried Pam cooking spray and did not really noticed any improvement, :confused2:. I think what I will do this summer is try the "wax on" , "wax off" treatment,. KC :D :D :D
