Durable wall cabinets for garage/barns?

the Sauder stuff 

Bob:
Last week on one of the new home makeover shows about garages (thought Junkman would win that one, but I guess he didn't enter the contest /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) showed different storage devices. Sauder was one of the manufacturers but I can't remember exactly if it was the shelving or the cabinets. I would still check as it is a new line of their product for garage use.

Well I had not seen that line of Sauder stuff before. But they do not have wall cabinets, and that is what I need. (they have 1, but it must be attached to the bench?!?) It certainly is very modestly priced which makes me pretty suspect of it. I'm actually planning on spending this afternoon hitting a bunch of stores checking out my options. (It rained HARD last night and I want to let the ground dry a bit before I get the tractor onto it to do some work).

Bob, do a google search for "race trailer cabinets" or simply click on racecabinet.com, which is one of the results I got. They will adapt their aluminum race trailer cabinets to use as shop cabinets. You can be just like one of the Nascar teams. If it gets a little too pricey, just take a loan on the Avanti /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It is separate from the bench. Go back and look at the web page of the individual components and you'll see that it is separate. And yes, it is a modestly priced line they offer. Good luck.

I make 'em myself out of 3/4 ply.

Piece of cake: a particual wood box costs $90, I can make a bunch out of ply. They are just 12, or 16, or 24" deep boxes. A rip cut and a couple of cross cuts and its a 'ready to assemble' cabinet!

Even the doors are a piece of cake!

( I'm building a new garage with a small workshop area and want to put in some DURABLE cabinets.

Does anyone have any suggestions on wall storage for a garage? I'd like it to look good if possible, but I'm really a lot more interested in it being heavy duty and functional. I really thought I would buy the Gladiator stuff until I opened the door and looked inside.

Suggestions please.

I LIKE THOSE!!!

I actually found a welded heavy steel wall cabinet, but it doesn't look nearly as nice LOOKING as those wooden ones from Grizzly. And it is nice that they are solid wood instead of pressboard like so many of the other brands.

I took another look at the Gladiator cabinets and really found them to be expensive but flimsy, they look good, but I really want functional units and the Gladiator simply didn't make the cut!

In the flyer I found these in they showed the white laminate ones (available in July) to be a bit cheaper, but they're made from MDF, not solid pine, but they looked really nice...............

Grizzly had some them on the their showroom floor when I stopped there on my way home from TX. I could not remember where I saw them. Nice heavy stuff.
