Actually the new dodges are the same as the rest of these. The Cummins is now all computerized too. You can't work on them unless you have all the computer diagnostic equipment.

Dave if you change trucks every year or couple of years why bother with the high priced filtration stuff?

Mine is one of the anemic pre 24 valve cummins. Maybe I'll be lucky.

Yea those are nice to work on for sure Egon!!! Thsoe are also EXTREMELY easy to make more power with. As long as you don't have an automatic just turn that little pump up and put some gauges on and you can make ALOT more power.

egon, I hear those are the cummings models that are holding up VERY well. Doc, I usually keep a truck 5-8 years. I drive over 30k a year. I like those push it pull it tow it sales /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I just traded this one as it all worked out right with good equity after 2 years of 0% payments. I had good equity added to the Rebates and low interest. Plus I needed about 3k in brakes, tires, oil pan, skid plates etc after my boo boo in the woods with the old one. I have never ever traded for the same truck after two years before, If I did I would lease and never worry about it. My wifes Bronco I just sold was over 8 years old and mint. I try to take care of my stuff. I also want to get a Auxillary fuel tank on this one. Dave

Cowboydoc:

That's the truth. It takes a lot more than a pair of vise grips and a ball pein hammer to work on a new Cummins or any other diesel for that matter.

Besides, the new Cummins engines that the put in motorhome chassis are breaking blocks. Not enough gussetting internally.
