That's what I thought you would say. That is a completely different filter than the old 890. BY CNH admission will not seal in cold AS WELL as the old 890 filter. Smaller diameter, may well be shorter. Certainly not the same filter with new paint and part number that we have seen over the last 6 or 7 years. Cold weather problems in the filter/cooler circuit have been around since 1320's and 1520's. I spent some time in Parts today and came up with no changes in this circuit since before the DA's came out, at least in the class II's; nothing different beginning in early 2004 except the recent filter change. No one at CNH has a grip on this problem. I reference the Asist Knowledge object concerning high charge pressures on Class II tractors. That is the crux of the problem, neatly sidestepped. We are asked to test at a point OTHER than where the highest pressure in the cooler/charge pressure system exists, and NO ONE has come up with filters/coolers/hoses that will stand the ACTUAL PRESSURES FOUND IN THE REAL WORLD! (end of rant) Spencer, you and I are saying much the same thing. But it sure sucks when an otherwise satisfied customer dumps the contents of his (insert model here) on the floor of his pristine garage floor while he thinks he is allowing his tractor to warm up. These folks are doing nothing wrong, and we are all getting screwed. end of second rant.
