newest is a 3520 with delux cab
Hi everyone, Just got done plowing with my 3520. Pulling 2-14s averaging around 4mph in limestone sod that hasnt been plowed for the 28 years we have lived here. The depth was at around 8in. and we plowed a little over an acre. I can honestly say that this tractor plows as good if not better then any gear tractor i have owned, and with the dreaded R4 tires. :) :D

All that, and no pictures? Shame on you! Seriously, sounds like you had a great day, congrats.

Welcome to TBN:D

As you have proved, there is nothing wrong with plowing with hydrostatic transmissions, but there sure is a lot of people who will tell you otherwise!
Now this R4 thing could start a fight:eek:

that sounds awesome - would love to see some pics of the big green machine in action. Thanks for sharing

Hiya,

Silly me, I saw the title and figured you were plowing snow.... My bad, I guess I'm so used to plowing it ever other day since November I think everyone does. :(

I would rather plow than mow with my 2305

I plow with my 4120 and R-4's. Sometimes I have to lock in 4WD. The only real issue I deal with is the ground is uneven and there is no draft control. So sometimes I'll have to back up and do a section over.

Do you have cruise control on your tractor? If not, your foot will get tired. Discing one of my 30 acre fields with my 4720 e-hydro convinced me to get the cruise added.

I run the same setup on my 3520 and it does a great job with the R4 tires but I do run it in 4WD the whole time even discing. I just got through turning about 2 acres myself and have about one more left to do. Mine does want to give up if the turning plow goes out of sight but thats the only time. You just have to keep it cutting as level as possible. The only problem I had is trying to get it to maintain a certain depth on uneven ground. I guess that is just not going to happen.
