E450 Battery

My E450 Battery burst open, it had a WalMart one in it. Does anyone know what size or group# it should have ? The WalMart battery was a 41-4 . Just not sure if that was correct or not. Thanx for any assistance.

It is the E450di, the battery was about 8 yrs old

Sorry, had Ford on the mind and thought you were talking about a E450 van...

The Interstate battery part number is 31P-MHD. Other suppliers should be able to use this part number to find you what you need. Just my $.02

All Group 31 Batteries are most likely the same size.

Why do they have the positive post connected to a black cable and the negative post connected to a red cable ?
