My wife and I are avid bird watchers and we thought "what a great way to feed the birds while we are moving snow or mowing the lawn" so, we have invented the first "Mobile Tractor Bird Feeder". 15.99 plus shipping.

My BX-22 was a real champ yesterday, too. I did not experience any catching of the bucket during the floating-scraping manuvers. I did manage to get stuck twice...worked it out by itself the first time, but the second required my pickup to pull it back. The front-end dropped off the end of my elderly neighbors parking area pavement and just bearly caught the front axle enough to "park it". The FEL was no help as the really big pile of snow under it didn't afford any leverage to lift the front of the machine.

I spend six hours on that machine yesterday doing the equivalent of about 500' of drveway between ours and the other two. We had about 22" plus drifting to deal with.

One other point...I'm really, really, really glad I had second thoughts and took the turf tires back and exchanged for bars. There was no way I would have been able to deal with this storm with turfs!

We've been in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia(60 m west of Wash. DC) for the past 24 years. In that time we have had 4 major snowstorms of accumulations > 24" (1983, 1993, 1996, 2003). We have had approx 8 other storms of accumulations > 8" but less than 24". Then again some years we wind up with a total for the season of 2 to 4". So you never can tell but I am so glad I have the FEL. ALL my neighbors love it as well!

I was just kidding about the bird feeder. The photo was taken with the tractor in the foreground and the bird feeder in the background. It only APPEARS as if the feeder is on the tractor.
BTW, the birds are going crazy here looking for food, so hope all of you don't forget about all of your neighborhood birds as well as the 'visitors' that have stopped by.

I'm in South Eastern CT.... Just brought my new toy (BX22) home 3 weeks ago... had about 12 hours total, just practicing, moving some dirt, digging up a tree stump or 2... then the storm last week.... My driveway and turnaround (500 feet) did that twice, then my neighbors twice (500) feet (all paved) then my other neighbor (400 feet) all gravel. Had very similar problems as everyone else. Got stuck once but managed to use the backhoe to move me off of my high center..(got to be careful)... Loved every min. of it /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.... now I have 20 hours on the BX.. Can’t wait for summer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I knew it was in the backgrond it just lines up right. was looking to get some laughs. I have a bx-22 and cleared 22" of snow from that storm put 6 hours on it that day. I also feed the birds and have noticed it looks like some of them are starting to come back for spring.

We had eight bluebirds sitting around the rim of our heated birdbath "during" the storm. I guess it was a good day to go to the bar...<G>
