Eastern VA beach

Just got back from a wonderful vacation at Virginia Beach. Would like to thank Mark for keeping the weather so nice in Eastern VA /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif. Had 1-1/2 days of rain, but there is so much to do in the area, it was no problem. They have a wonderful aquarium, which easily kept my sons occupied for 9 hours (my wife and I tired before them, a first). Toured the Naval Base by water for the half-day rain. Good vacation spot for those that like the beach. This was my first stay there. Found it to be a nice compromise between the fast pace of Ocean City, MD and the tranquillity of Outer Banks, NC.

Roy, I hate to admit it, but when we were in Virginia Beach in '92, I thought their aquarium really put the Texas State Aquarium to shame.

I'm glad you had a good trip anyway, though. There is a lot to see and do there.

I also hate to admit it, being a Marylander, that my sons liked it better than the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Less crowded and more hands-on activities. My oldest son (12) could of spent days just petting the Rays. Thought he was going to try and smuggle one out!
