Our well water system is custom built by a local company that specializes in these type of installations. The water filtration system is a Fleck 5600 Econominder head mounted on two water filtration tanks. These filtration tanks back flush, just like a water softener, three times a week. This removes all the sulfer, calcium, iron, and lime from our well water. In addition to the filtration system there is an "on demand" air compressor that pumps air in to the filtration system that helps with iron control. Along with the water filtration system we had a Nelson Reverse Osmosis drinking water system installed. The Nelson Reverse Osmosis system generates 1 gallon of drinking water per hour. The water filtering system and reverse osmosis package cost us $2,500 installed. For soft water we have a rebuilt Water Refining water softener. Water Refining went out of business decades ago. The water softener came with the house. The $2,500 we spent for the filtration system and reverse osmosis drinking water is worth every penny. We have had it three years now and our water is crystal clear. The reverse osmosis drinking water is far better than we can buy from a store in a bottle. Our water guy changes the filters and services this system every year for $60.00.

My softener from Sams club is made by Morton and it was only about 300 dollars. It was the biggest one they had with 1 1/4 inch in and out lines, fully automatic and everything. Installation in my well house took about 15 minutes for the pvc cement to dry on a couple new lines I had to install. That was it. A kid could do it with the instructions it had. They even had an english version included! Also it came with a test kit so you could test the water and set it properly. I really like it.

I was curious about the easy water system and I spent many hours surfing the net for reviews on it. Most of the reviews posted by people who never even tried the system said it wouldn't work. I finally decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. Their system works just like they say it will. It is NOT a water softner it is a descaler. I have very hard well water and was cleaning my aerators on my faucets once a month. In less than two years of having a brand new water heater i had to replace the bottom element because the lime and mineral deposits were so deep it covered the element completely and burnt it up. It took hours to drain my water heater because the water barely trickled out the drain. I bought the system installed it as instructed and waited. First thing i noticed was the aerators were clearing up and flowing much better. Now after having the system for about four months I am amazed. I have done a couple blow downs on my water heater and was blown away myself. The water drains so fast now i have to hold on to the hose because the pressure and believe it or not the water is crystal clear. I haven't had to clean or replace a single aerator since installing this system. If your like me and love the way your well water taste but don't like what it does to your water fixtures then I HIGHLY recommend this. Its a bit pricey but if you take in the cost of a salt softner system then the cost of buying salt for as long as you have it then you will see that it will really pay for itself and you have zero upkeep. So if your considering this system you might take advice from someone who has one. It really does work. And before someone sais this is exactly like a post on another site it is. I copied and pasted instead of re typing :)

Uh, right. Does it stop these elephants from flying over my house and pooping on my cars too?

I wonder exactly how many forums were "pasted" the same endorsment? The scale is lime, a mineral, where does it go? Oh well, the magnetic bracelet didn't cure my head cold either....

Had to add my 2 cents. Purchased a magnet based system with full house filtration. My house was 3700 sq ft, with 4 baths. They said if it didn't work as promised, he'd remove the the ($5000) setup no questions asked. Waited for a month to see the scaling diminish. It didn't. Called. The company installed larger magnets. No difference. Called. They put a big magnet on the incoming hot water line to the water heater. No difference. When I asked that he remove the system, he said he'd come right over. I felt like I was facing a mafia guy who tried to intimidate me, yelled at me, and I simply, and courteously declined keeping the system. Wow---Thought he was going to beat my sorry butt. Had to stay really cool because I had 5K in this little adventure. He said he'd have a check for me after the equipment was removed. Three weeks later, I had my check (Picked up at a seedy little strip mall office with one desk), and found out exactly (thru some research) how many lawsuits were pending on "LIFESOURCE" / "WATERBOY" company, and also found out exactly how LUCKY I was to get my check. Talk to WATER PROFESSIONALS before purchasing water treatment systems. Magnets are a scam.

I just reread this and all I can say is... WOW!

go back from the first post and count how many single digit posters commented on this.. At first I thought it was spammers FOR that water system, but now I think some may be spammers trying to steer you toward traditional water treatment systems..

I hate to be so negative thinking - but when you get 5 or more 1st time posters in one 'arguable' topic I become quite the pessimist about their intententions..

side note - I wish the post count here did not update on all posts - ie your first post will always show #1, your second will always shoe #2..

Yes, WOW is the word.

I like that the post count updates, that way you can really sort out who is a geniune new user comenting, and the 1-off spam posts.

I have a fine working KINETICO softener, installed on a well with very hard water, and a fairly high iron content. When I first heard of Easy Water, I looked into it, and at first blush, it seemed like a good alternative. However, upon thoroughly reading their brouchure, I determined, according to their own words, I would still need to use my softener. Enough said for me. I'll stick with the KINETICO.
