EBAY, FED-EX, and bad luck.

Sorry to hear you had bad luck on e bay. I would tell him (the seller )that I was going to post neg. feed back if I didn't get the answers that I wanted, ie, tracking # for 1 . I would also do like others have said . notify e bay I have bought several times off e- bay with no problems .As I understand it, alot of sellers make their living off e bay & don't want neg. feed back . It seems odd that this guy has pos.feed back for 6 mo.& doesn't want to take care of you.

Looking for advice from frequent EBAY-ers, and/or shippers who use FED-EX.

I bought an item on EBAY. Seller had near perfect rating, with over 50 sales in last 6 months. Shouldn't be a worry. One "red flag" though.(albiet not a bad one) He won't take PAY PAL, nor personal checks either. Money Orders ONLY.

HELP ME!!!!!!!!! :(
Ebay is a game of odds, like Vegas. You win some, you lose some. Overall I think buying and selling there is worthwhile but I've met my share of strange types. Where else would you ever even see that once-in-ten-years part listed.

Money Orders Only is a bad sign. For a frequent seller, it means he sells with no recourse no matter what. Nearly all frequent ebay sellers are more reasonable than this. This one plays hardball. I don't think it is likely you will ever see that special part you need. (sorry!) Maybe he never had one.

Sometimes when a transaction goes weird it means another person emailed the seller and offered more. That may be what happened here. In that case, he will 'find' your money order, uncashed, and refund it to you presumably, because otherwise he is on the wrong end of criminal fraud and also will get booted by ebay.

You need to jump on him hard right now, possibly he hasn't shipped the part anywhere, so act quick. The phone can be more effective than email - do some detective work and get his number. Phone him and say you are coming by. Do whatever it takes to shake loose that part. If you used a Postal money order the feds will (eventually) help you pursue mail fraud charges - discuss this with him.

He couldn't possibly have lost the Fedex shipping info, he doesn't want to show it to you.

Deal with him first and ebay later (but within 30 days). It sounds like you would prefer the unique part that only he can provide, over just getting a refund.

Another technique I have used, but ebay disapproves of, is to contact all the customers showing in his recent sales (not feedback) and ask if they got their order. Or someone who sold to him (showing in his feedback) might give you more contact information.

This is what I meant to say but CA said it so much better.

Funny how small the world can be with things like the internet-------

The item I bought, an O.E.M. Massey Ferguson CAT 1 top link for 100 series tractors, was the topic of some one elses search too. I talked with a guy in Tennessee last week who was searching for one. (on another website) I told him about the one I'd just bought on EBAY. I gave him the contact info for the guy who I'd bought mine from. Maybe he knows where another one is at. Well, my "seller", who didn't have another one at the time, contacted my buddy in Tennessee a couple days ago, informing him that "another top link" had turned up. Mine was a bit rare, due to the fact the top link PIN was still with it, connected by a small chain. Generally, the chains go bye-bye in the first 5 minutes of use. In the 35 years I've owned my 150 Massey, I've seen ONE top link with the chain and pin still intact. MINE......35 years ago......it lasted all of one day back then. The one he's shipping to Tennessee coincidentally has the pin and chain. Hmmmmm?

Sounds like my "seller" found another buyer. I've contacted EBAY with ALL the information. Calling State Police in my home state and sellers home state tomorrow morning.

Sounds like the other guy offered more money after the auction.

I had a physco that I had bought something from on e-bay. Wouldn't send the item after I paid within 3 minutes of the end of the auction through pay-pal. E-mailed her fifty times and each time she would answer me but call me every name in the book for bothering her. E-mailed e-bay and pay pal, not much they could do. Finally after about three weeks I called the Oregon State Police where she lived and explained the situation and gave them my thoughts on internet fraud, which can turn into a felony because of the state lines. They went and knocked on her door and in three days I had my item, and believe it or not in perfect condition. After the fiasco I received e-mails from other buyers inquiring about her because she was doing the same thing, selling stuff and not shipping it. I really don't know what ever happened to her but I know she changed her user name quite a few times to get through the e-bay system. My opinion, call the State Police in the sellers area and see if they'll help you out. It worked for me.

And the plot thickens. FINALLY got a tracking # this morning for a package sent my way.

IT LEFT SELLERS HANDS AT 8AM THIS MORNING.

Who knows if I'll actually get what I'm due. More details as they happen.

Was this package shipped via FedEx Express or FedEx Ground?

For FedEx Express shipments:

Does the shipper have a FedEx account #? If so, shipping transactions associated with that acct # can be researched. We can also track packages given the origin/destination postal codes and day of shipment. It would also help to have the 1st 3 characters of the customer name and his postal code.

Of course, if he never shipped the package, then there is no way that FedEx can help you. We aren't that good yet!!
