( You also make note of alternate email addresses in the listing. We do the same. Why? Well our security was compromised when we used to use 1 email address, using the typical EBay info request. Our solution is that we now use another email address STRICTLY for EBay. We will never respond to anyone from that. It is secret to everyone but EBay. When we get EBay mail in our other email boxes, we know they are fake. And believe me, we get lots.)
Perhaps I understood this paragraph wrong, but I can tell you, if you are putting text in your auction descriptions such as "email me at xyz1234@wherever.com for more information", people are going to default into thinking you are a scammer, even if it's not true. If you meant you have one email address you use for ebay, and a different email for all other business related activities, then I think that's a good idea. If you try to deter people from hitting the "ask seller a question" link on ebay's auction pages, people will not believe your auction is legitimate. Most times when scammers post listings, it's through other people's accounts that they have hacked via the phishing email scams. They can get as far as posting auctions, but cannot change the account owner's information such as email address or password, etc, without having ebay notify the owner's original email account that a change was made. This is the reason the scams always request for you to contact the scammer though the email link in the auction text.
I've never had a problem with ebay cancelling my listings, and sometimes I do have what could be considered a policy violation, but not often. Granted, I probably report 10-20 scams every week, not always tractor related though.
