Any opinion on the 3.5 ecoboost?

If my 08 Titan and 06 F-350 were not paid off I would have one just like my fathers I talked about sitting in the garage tonight.

Ford is rolling out the Eco-boost from 11 to 20 models this year.

I hope they put it in the Expedition.

I love this site for tractors, but when it comes to pickup's you guys are retarded. The thread is EcoBoost Oppinions......not tell us why your Ram/GM is better or the government bailout bashing thread.

Maybe the mods should start some "bash my government" and "brand bashing" sections for you children so that the rest of us can see some relevant info here.

I expressed similar views but not quiet as harsh as this. Maybe you should also request the mods to open a new section for "member bashing" so that you can have an appropriate place to call people names. I think it would be impossible to discuss any truck without some "helpful" comparisons.

Seems like every time I read something negative about this engine, it's about how the mileage suffers under heavy loads or extreme conditions. I've also found this to be true with the big block gas engines and diesels, so I'm confused why it's brought up?

I'm also looking at this engine very seriously because of what it will be like to drive without a heavy load, and under normal, day to day conditions. Do the milage numbers add up under going to work, the store and running around type conditions? What is it like on a road trip?

My biggest concern is that it's a new engine, and how well it will hold up. I'm not one to spend thousands of dollars more for an engine to only get a couple mpg's more out of it's published ratings. And for $50 I can get a 40 foot tractor trailer to deliver what I buy at the lumber yard that will unload it and stack it with a forklift, so towing and load capicity isn't that big of a deal for me.

Eddie

Eddie...You need a visit to Bosley or jion Hair Club.......:):)

Seriously, the Eco-Boost block can be converted to a common rail, parent bore diesel engine with little modification.

His post is not harsh, it is direct and too the point, and completely true. Helpful comparisons and brand bashing are two entirely different things. Sadly, the learning impaired, or slow to learn still have not gotten it yet, and continue with the pointless banter.

What category are you placing yourself in? You were doing a little brand bashing on another current thread about a Ford 6.7 L powerstroke cut-away. Your exact quote was:
"GM knows about customer loyalty, Ford only cares about sales.

If it was not for Cummins, Rams would be a thing of the past. Lets talk about the ISX, and their $3,000+ dollar turbos... Or is that ItSuX??"

I made it a point to mention I am not brand loyal to anyone. I have added valuable posts to this tread and you come in here and post unrelated junk like this. Talk about pointless banter, how about the pot calling the kettle black! Your profile picture is a GMC truck. Did you have any value to add to this thread? If not find another thread.
