Edge Tamers on my gravel drive

Ordered mine today. Hope I love them as much as you guys do. Also ordered the extenders because they were relatively cheap.

Drive is gravel and I ended up with a good amount in my yard last winter. Also this winter I will have more area to plow. We just built a barn and I will want to plow some area over the grass out to the barn to make it easier for the wife to walk out there to check on the horses.

I've had mine for nearly 2 years now and have ditched the stock bucket in favor or a snow bucked with 3x the volume. I'm now running two 3" Edge Tamers on each end and one 4" Edge Tamer in the middle of the bucket and couldn't be happier. This is by far the slickest way to remove snow from a gravel driveway that I have tried.

I'm not sure, but I think my tractor might be able to push more snow with edge tamers than without. They are like little skis and make my bucket slide along with very little resistance. Last year my DS4510HS walked right through that 30"+ storm we had with the bucket in float and 3 Edge Tamers on.

Awesome..... glad to hear it. They say we are set up to have a good amount of lake effect this year in Northern Indiana. I cannot swap the bucket out because we will also be using the tractor for horse related "crap" (somewhat literally sometimes) and the bucket will be important for that.

In the larger storm we had last year it took me close to an hour to do the drive. However that was learning curve as well as that was the first snow with the tractor. I have more experience now and see that the Edge Tamer will be very useful for my application.

As a new tractor owner I had never heard of these, and now I need them.

I went with 2 of the 4 inch models. I have only a 24 horse tractor and likely could have used the 3 inch. But for just a few bucks more I wanted to be sure. I also ordered the edge extenders as I can see how useful they will be hauling stuff around. Could have used them this weekend to move a bunch of stuff. Still got it done, but it took more thought and planning than it would have with the extenders.

Also I just got an email from R2 the 4 inch tamers on on back order. They expect my order to ship in 10 days..... just FYI.

Neat idea, for sure! I opted for the SnowSport HD blade on my pickup. Can go thru the yard, thru depressions, across gravel and never mess with anything. And a small SUV or compact pickup can use it. I did create a bracket for the mount and have a winch installed to raise and lower the blade when it is needed.

Here is a Honda Ridgeline using one.....

I'm guessing you don't have a SSQA on your loader?

I asked on the attachments area, will these work on a snowblower? I need to clear two gravel drives this year that had gravel added to them late this summer and it is not packed down. Will they work on the blower? Thanks, Jon

I don't see how they would clamp on to a snow blower. They are oriented to clamp onto a metal plate oriented parallel to the ground.
