Edge Tamers on my gravel drive

Mine arrived a few days ago. Going to put them on today as we have 4-8 inches of snow incoming Sunday

Anyone ever use these on an asphalt drive?

I tore up a corner section of my drive last year...don't want to repeat it this year

So I also got the edge extenders. They got a workout today. We had a barn built. Had to move around 10 CU yards of "trash' into the dumpster. Also for some reason the builders left around 250 2x4's. They were 16 footers (some 20 footers). So we had to move those as they left them in the barn. Barn will be used for a riding arena so not a good place for them. Moved them from that barn to the storage barn we have. Pallet forks would have made faster work, but the edge extenders were what I had.

They performed great! I could carry about 16 boards at a time.

I cannot wait to see how the edge tamers work in the snow.

I had a similar experience on one of the drives I clear in the winter. The drive was just re-done about 2 years prior and was smooth everywhere except where it met the road. At that spot there was about a 1 inch lip. couldn't see it under the snow. Caught the lip with my bucket and tore a piece off. I told the owner straight away and he was really cool. Said that was a heck of a lot less damage than the last plow guy did and said don't worry about it.

The next winter I used the edge tamers and can go right over that lip no problems. So I do his whole drive with the edge tamers and the take them off to scape down for one pass at the end and that has worked out great.

Those uneven street joint can really be a jolter with a bucket or rear blade! I plow anywhere from 10-20 driveways within a mile of my house. In my plowing agreement I specifically state that I'm not responsible for damage to uneven street interface joints and additional damage to poor condition pavement in general.
For seasonal jobs I check out driveways in the fall, and take pictures / notes. Folks that flag me down wanting their unmarked driveway plowed usually balk at my rates, which suites me fine - I really hate plowing driveways that I have (almost) no idea where the pavement is, and its condition.

Yes Roy, I have. Results where excellent in the big snow we had since I was pushing back the piles from the edge of the driveway-they really saved the grass, but I did remove them for the last clean up passes so I could scrape down to the surface better.

Thank you, Kenny!

I had someone flag me down last year and did the drive. She stood there an watched me the whole time and told me exactly how far I could go and where the edges were. She was sometimes off by 2 feet. It all worked out OK but this year I'll ask her before the first big storm if she's going to want me to do it so I can take pictures. Sure is easier when you know where the driveway is!

I have a 32hp Kubota with a light weight duty, 72" bucket. I believe their website said to get the 4" with extenders for my model. It said I might want to consider adding a 3rd one to the center of the bucket....is this needed? I have blacktop that is smooth but the concrete portion of my driveway is broken up (one spot is sunk in) but the bucket should be wide enough to glide over it.

Also with it being "Black Friday" or Cyber Monday coming up, are there any discount codes or anything for TBN members?

The extenders are NOT used for doing snow. They are used when you need to carry something (log or whatever) that is wider than your bucket.

I have both the tamers and extenders. Have not used the tamers yet bc no snow. However used the extenders to move a bunch of lumber. Worked well.

I think if they indicate you need three you probably do. Esp if your drive has a decent crown in it.
