That's the one I have. Run a load and pop that lower panel. Check for leaks, as they will cost you plenty if you don't catch it early. Also check the two lower shocks. When looking for info to fix mine, I found those two problems seemed common.

Yeah, but for some of us, the septic issue is more than enough reason to go with a front loader. With 6 kids and typically 20 loads per week (with a top loader), that water usage adds up fast.

That's correct. The He4T is the Duet 9450, manufactured in Germany. We recently picked up the Duet 9450 and are completely satisfied.

Gerard -- I have that same washer and have been pleased as punch! Not only is it easy on the septic, but some summers our spring drops to a trickle so every drop counts. That Kenmore is downright stingy with water! Pete

Yep, that's the same washer we have, it works well, but I have to see how I ruined that bearing. Anyone have an exploded parts pic on that washer?
On this topic, the news today is that the Chinese may be buying Maytag as they are in trouble.

Haier is all over China like Sears used to be all over America. More so, actually. I hadn't known that the government owned it - that explains it.
Of course, the government over there owns at least a part of every big business, so I shouldn't be surprised. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I looked at all the options and thought the money for these washers was a good investment (saved the $12-14000.00 for new septic system) for the investment of around $1000 that was about 15 years ago and the only thing that has need replacement was bearing in tub.
