I think you were looking for this thread in which Von used such a motor.

That setup looks great to me. The only thing I might add is some kind of a cover. Perhaps a cut up plastic piece from a snow saucer mounted on standoff or threaded rod to keep the snow off of the assembly.

we were going to add a cover, but i figured if it got bound up or iced up it would be easier to deal with without the cover.

( I'm curious was that cable and jack-shaft used to originally rotate the chute? Ours uses a similar setup, see picture. )

we made the jack-shaft and mounting bracket, but yes it was originally set up that way . i really wanted to use a chain to spin the chute, but couldn't find a sprocket that could be cut and attached to the chute.

One simple way would be to remove the electric spout turning assemble from a old New Holland field chopper. Some versions used a cable, some used a chain and some used a sprocket and worm gear.

Maybe your second suggestion of the same thread may work, Bird. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Comment not directed towards you, Bird; intended for the original poster - he should pay attention and read his own thread. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

ah, hey Doc, not being nasty, but you must not being reading this thread too closely yourself. My comment was referring to an eatlier post on my thread that did indeed point out the use of a wiper motor. I was merely commenting that I missed that thread in previous search attempts before I posted. I always try to find threads that address my questions before I post one. And I DEFINITELY READ MY OWN THREADS CLOSELY!
