I picked up a 2100psi Dewalt from HD yesterday.
The bad reviews were mostly bad soap dispenser and folks that probably would complain about a can opener being too hard to operate.

I just want to keep truck and tractor clean, not for commercial cleaning. Got enough engines to maintain so hopefully this will do what I want.
The bean harvest dust has been really bad this year in the MS Delta, elbow grease will get it off but…………….!

All you TBNers that own one, does it perform adequately for basic equipment cleaning and concrete drives?

What kind works best for the money?
TIA
I purchased one for $115.00 on Amazon (Mr. Liance) for cleaning the dirt off the tractor and RZR. It works well for this.

I have 3 gas pressure washers. They do a great job, picked em up for cheap as they needed pump repairs. BUT if I'm say on my roof pressure washing and run out of fuel my wife can fuel em but has not enough umpth to pull the starter. Recently I picked up a Electric start gas one. It has a small battery on top she can fuel it, push the starter button and I'm back in business. I love it. 3300 lbs pressure,7.25 hp I gave 100 bucks for it and put a 14 dollar carb on it. Now I don't use any of my other ones.
My wife has the same convenient issue starting the weedeater.

I found a cheap Chinese one that has a electric start

It has a small lithium ion battery that's used to power the starter. It will allow about 6 months worth of starts before the battery needs to be pulled and charged.

No more excuses for not being able to weed eat

i have the green one from Harbor Freight. Claims 1750psi. It works well, a little fussy at first as you have to run water through it without the motor on to remove all the air bubbles - otherwise the pump will lose prime during operation.
I have seen more powerful pressure washers. However, this one does adequate to get the mud off my tractor and implements, wash the stains of the vinyl siding at camp [fed by a point well and not municipal water supply]. Came with a soap dispenser bottle and a jug of bug-off soap which is fair in cleansing. It as survived 4 or 5 years, I think, maybe 6? No complaints for the price point.
Just cleaned a small deck and stockade fence at the house in town. Made it look brand new again and took the grey color back to brown on the 12 year old fence.

Depending on how big of a concrete driveway you have you may need to look at getting/renting a couple different ones.

The first one I bought was a Simpson Powershot 4240 that puts out 4gpm at 4200psi which worked okay for cleaning concrete with a spray nozzle (don't want to use too narrow of a fan or get too close as it can/will damage the concrete...especially if the spray finds a crack) -- however it took quite a bit of time to clean off the 145ftx16ft concrete driveway (drive was put in by prior owners).

So for that size project I'd consider it to be a bit too small, but it's also almost a bit too much for cleaning light dirt/dust off of equipment/vehicles (would probably be better for cleaning off heavy dirt/grime.

What's been getting far more use around my house has been the Ryobi 18V 0.8 gpm at 320psi pressure washer since it can pull water directly from barrel/bucket or be attached to a garden hose. It doesn't do great with heavy dirt that's settled into concrete, but for cleaning light dirt/dust (i.e. neither a shovel & scraper are required to remove chunks of dirt first) off of equipment/vehicles it works just fine. Though to be honest my wife probably uses it more often than I do.....

So after saying all that if I had to start over and still have the same needs I do now I'd probably buy either a Ryobi 40V 600psi handheld model (upgraded version of 18V one I have) or their newer 40V 2000psi wheeled pressure washer as they can both draw from a standalone water source or hook to a garden hose/faucet for most of my pressure washing needs. Then for the driveway I'd rent (or hire) something ....and probably try it with a surface cleaner or pressure "broom" rather than the standard spray nozzles....

Other the other hand if I was routinely having to clean clods of dirt & grease off of equipment I'd lean more toward a hot water pressure washer putting out more than 3gpm and more than 3000psi -- but probably still stay under 4000-ish psi as attachments for more than 4000psi start getting harder to find.

Just my thoughts though.....

Edit: I repeatedly mentioned both the pressure and the volume of flow as more pressure seems to create better piercing/scraping action, but the volume of flow keeps the dirt/grime flowing off/away from what's being washed.

My son has a GreenWorks 1600 that we use around the house. It works okay for cleaning off tractor, mid-mount mower, cleaning PT deck, cars, etc. It may be lower power and slow, but it does a good job. It is fairly quiet for its size.

At the sugar house we have a Subaru that we got at Costco in 2015, 3100psi. That works really well for cleaning stainless evaporator and tanks, cleaning out poly tanks, and keeping trucks clean. The electric start was okay, but we lost the charger and have dealt with pull start since, and not a problem. It usually starts 2-3 pulls. We use non-ethanol gas as it sets for long periods without use. It is noisy and we double up on hearing protection when using.

n both cases we bought multiple size and spare tips, and the hose for the sugaring operation has been replaced due to wear/tear dragging it on concrete. The turbo nozzle is really handy for cleaning where you really do not want to tear the paint off. While both have soap capabilities, we have seldom used it.

For greasy jobs, we frequently pre-treat with SimpleGreen or occasionally Dawn, and it gets the job done.

I have been using gasoline and electric powered units for many years. I use an electric unit from Northern Tool for washing vehicles. It is getting old and less powerful and I am going to purchase that Westinghouse unit next, that someone else posted earlier. The typical electric units are very slow cleaning concrete and wood decks.

For wood decks and concrete, I now only use more powerful gasoline powered units- as they work far faster and are far easier to use on things like this. My original gas powered unit was 3000 PSI / 3 GPM and it is the minimum I would recommend for this type of usage. I currently use a 4HP / 4000 PSI unit and really prefer its performance for heavy duty uses.

I have had numerous pressure washers and steam cleaners. It’s like any other tool in that there’s a right tool for the job
Currently I have an electric 4hp 240v with a Diesel heater. That’s for use in front of the shop when I am cleaning tractors or trucks and I am dealing with oils and grease plus dirt mixed in. Nothing can take the place of heat. This one of course needs to be within the reach of power.
Second one is a 4400 psi 4 gpm cold unit that is gas powered. It’s for cleaning concrete or other things where I need the pressure and portability. Then I have a small gas powered 3100 psi for decks, car and truck wheels where I don’t need or want a lot of pressure. I also had a small Karcher electric on my houseboat for the decks every spring.
One consideration in advertising is they usually rate the pressure with the smallest tip usually round pointy spray and the gpm with the biggest wide spray tip. So shop wisely.

It's basic Horsepower. A good pressure washer needs around 3000 psi. That's over 5HP. 1 HP is 750 watts. The most you can get from a 15 amp/110v circuit is 2 HP. 3000+psi would best be supplied by a 3-phase 6Hp motor. No home has 3-phase power.
