Starting tractor today sparks came from somewhere on left side of engine, possibly around cranking motor. Attempted to start again upon turning the key absolutely nothing happens! Before I attempt to diagnose.... Suggestions?

Check for loose positive wire on the starter motor and look for wires rubbing the frame. If not those the starter may have issues.

Found problem! Arcing between solenoid cover and power line to starter. Slid a wood shim between the two and fired right up.
