Thanks to you guys who responded yesterday. Sorry for my slow reply, but I just got back into town to use the library computer. Re: CaptPicky starter question, it sounded like the starter was kicking in, but I chickened-out when the sparks started flying, and pulled the screwdriver before much happened. I did try several times after that, but nothing happened, which is why I thought in my second post that I may have blown a fuse. I checked them and they were all okay. Another fella called me and was quite helpful and suggested that I try jumping from the incoming positive terminal on the solenoid to the small starter-switch-wire terminal on the solenoid. When I tried that last night nothing happened, but I did slip once and accidently bridged from the big positive terminal to the big negative terminal, which caused the starter to kick on just as it had the first time I tried it. Being completely confused, I quit at that point without trying to start the tractor, until having a chance to check what you guys said over night. Hosspuller, thanks for the possible reset explaination. I also appreciated the warnings about blowing the battery. I would have been really pissed getting a face full of battery acid, especially knowing that there were all kinds of safety goggles laying on a shelf right behind me. Thanks for the continued help.
