I have to install two pumps for my osb I have one power source but I need another outlet on the other side so I need to run a jumper from the live power to the outlet I will be putting in so what gauge wire do I need?.

OK when you open the door to the boiler on the right side there is power and the pumps have a power cord so instead of digging to nurroe lines I just want to run a wire from the live wire to the other side of the door so I CAN plug the pumps in.

To figure wire gauge needed, we need to know volts and amps of the pumps, not the room arrangement. :)

Jack,

I think Rock means what is the length of the wire run and what are the amperage of the pumps. Will the pumps ever be running at the same time, etc. Otherwise there is no way to help you with your question.

That's just the liquor talking. You won't even remember this thread tomorrow.

That's funny. I was trying to think of a nice way to put it.:laughing:

Ok Jack.
Lets start over.
Votage; 110v or 220v?
Amps; What does each pump draw in amps?
Will both pumps be starting and running at the same time?
Distance; How far from the power source are you running to install the outlet?

How many amps feed the line you want to tap?
Are other things being run on this circuit?

The reason for theses questions are to prevent overloading the line.

Nothing brings out the "long knives" on any board better than an electrical question...

Electric threads usually start out a little better than this...this one is going to be interesting :licking:

Yep. But I'm still trying to figure out why osb needs pumps. Maybe a picture.

The OP is in Wisconsin, so maybe he didn't start drinking before breakfast.
