Empire Farm days group photo

Here's the 'complete' group photo...We got lost twice on our trip up to EFD plus we got a bit delayed coming through Watkins Glen because of the NASCAR race traffic. I will post some of the 93 pictures I took in another thread.

P.S.
I think the mark that runs diagonally from top left, to lower right is some of Boondox's wife's hair that flew in front of the lens. Given my camera, it was all too easy for this to happen. See next post.

P.P.S.
Muhammad, I was the only one wearing a TBN hat /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif, the New Holland blue color, of course, with your signature. It was the first time I wore it as well.

You guys couldn't have picked a better spot for a photo shoot. True Blue to the max.

We were going to move over to the Kubota and JD areas to take duplicate photos, but there were only so many hours in the day and SO MUCH to see! Besides, as JMIII, MikePA, RichZ and my wife and I can attest...there was greasy fair food calling us!!!

Hey guys, it was loads of fun connecting with you! The machinery was awesome, and way oversized for small Vermont hill farms. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Of course, it well matched the land. Tamara and I were amazed to learn that one can actually see the horizon in parts of the nation! The world outside of the hills seems to stretch on forever! Some of those tractors were as large as our house!!!

Ditto what Pete said. It's great to be able to put a face with a name. My wife sends her thanks to Tam as well. As you pointed out, it was a 'dangerous' situation, having wives talk, but I seem to have escaped unscathed. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Of course, I was in a lot of trouble to start with. You see, I knew we'd need something to talk about on the 6 hour trip, so I dribbled out information about EFD as we drove. How my wife missed that I was meeting 8 or so other people from TBN is beyond me. No, really it is. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif Having never been to EFD I 'assumed' that there would be animals, especially horses, there for my wife to look at. As we were leaving she opined that she saw one real horse (the secuirty guy), one plastic horse and one plastic cow. I think if I ply her with the promise of visting some of the wineries, I may be able to attend EFD sometime in the future. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif We wanted to stop at some of them on the way home, but they were not open in the morning. Plus tasting wine in the morning just doesn't seem right. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Yep, I got my greasy fair food before we met, as I knew I'd have to leave fairly early to get everything else done that I had scheduled for the day (it's great to be retired! /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif ) Pete, that coffee is great. I've seen several Green Mountain coffee and donut shops around, but never had a bag of beans in the house. Von, did young Von find his ATV at EFD?

The pictures that have been posted are real good. The ones my camera took of the group were a little dark. Say, did you notice the beautiful Central New York clouds in the pictures? And Mike, there are lots of cows and horses (real) around here - they just were promoting the equipment and not the livestock at EFD.

I'm glad I could make it and meet you guys, a couple of wives and a son. When's the next TBN meeting? /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Dwane, My son sat on every one that was his size! Then we went over to the auction and we missed out on some larger ones. We were late and they sold already. (thank god!) I'll still look for a good used small one, if I find a good deal I'll pick one up for him. There was a Kubota B2410 with MMM and FEL with 5 hrs. on the meter at the auction, but I didn't see what it went for.

Thanks for the great photo Von. The coffee Pete. It was outstanding to meet more fellow TBN'ers. I also learned more about Golden's in 15 minutes then I ever knew before. Another added bonus!!!!
What a great farm show and a beautiful area.
Didn't particapate in the farm food though. Ate at Cracker Barrels that morning. That's enough food for all day!!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Everyone take care

I had a blast, too!!!/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Pete, I forgot to mention when we were there, you were in New York, and there wasn't one tall building in sight!!! So now you know that JMIII and I weren't trying to fool everyone about how rural upsate New York is!/w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif

Some advice to those who might attend that have a long drive...Make a vacation out of it. The Finger Lakes region of central New York is beautiful. Places to camp and boat, wineries to visit, etc. My wife and I did not leave enough time for this. We drove up Thursday morning and left Waterloo, NY around 8:30 the next morning. When we go next year (I hope, I hope /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif) we will spend a week in the area.
