Enclosed Pole barn

It looks so flimsy to a person in Minnesota, with snow loads here. But, nice building.

I guess I woulda put one taller door in an end wall, you paid for the clear truss area, mighta used it & had a 12 foot or so door on an endwall. Again here in a snow area, we learn to hate doors where the snow falls off the roof & piles up, locking the door shut.

You musta got a good deal on wood, typically verticals are only used on each side of the windows & doors, not totally framed. Just the horizontal pieces to hold the tin.

Looks very nice tho, good job. 30 feet deep allows a little room in front for workbench and all. Nice.

Thanks for the replies, Paul I did buy about 70% of my lumber and tin used from a old chicken house barn that was taken down.... Mike

Thanks gno242, it rarely snows here maybe a few flurries that never stick.....in South Alabama anyways, have been getting some unusual cold weather lately its been getting into the low 20's this week making me consider heat for the barn which isn't insulated.......Mike

That is a very interesting use of wood and steel. We only see all wood or all steel buildings. I like it.

This is a link to a company in Ohio that gives the option of using metal trusses with a post frame building. On a side note, this is my first post after months of gathering great information from this site.

Update. I needed more room so I added 2 more bays next to the enclosed pole barn. I went 14ft tall on the eaves on this one, still need to enclose the back-sides etc. Mike
