Are you still crying about that.... Man up and bring it in for a group hug....Remember... it痴 only mean... if it isn稚 true... now does anybody know the words to Kum-bay-ya....

Junguda, when you write, ".... Remember... it痴 only mean... if it isn稚 true..."

I'll reply by saying that just because you write something doesn't make it true.

I do not believe that something that is true cannot be mean spirited; nor do I follow that philosophy.
In fact I's say that whether something is mean or not has more to do with the intention of the giver than whether it is true or not.

There are probably some who will agree with one or the other....

Agreed. I would even clarify a bit, by asking is it true, is it necessary, is it kind? If the above three questions cannot be answered in the affirmative, then perhaps it's best left unsaid.

While I do stand by what I said, I do also have a sense of humor.

Respect.... and to be honest.... there’s some truth to what you’ve (all) written....

Glad to see that you found a machine that meets most of your needs, reasonably close to your budget. My Dad was first a dairy farmer, then a small (low budget) contractor. I grew up around old equipment. If you shop carefully, and are handy, you can get a lot of value out of the old iron. Best of luck with your new (to you) machine!

While I haven't spent as much time on TBN in recent months, I have gotten a lot of good information and education from the TBN community over the years. Sometimes, you have to use your BS filter, though. Also, you have to learn not to be offended by those who make snarky comments. Remember, they are the ones who have a problem. Also remember that any advice you get over the Internet is guaranteed to be worth at least as much as it cost. Welcome to TBN!

I'm thinking of "going more green" myself. Someday I just might if I stumble on a really nice old JD4020 - said to be one of the best tractors JD ever built.

My opinion would be a loader first, and later on a back hoe,

Something has to be said for people how can have older equipment and keep it running to do a job or make them money. I know lots of contractors who have equipment that you need starting fluid air tank and jumper cables just to get their stuff running in the morning .:confused2: Are mason is #1 culprit his lull is horrible :yuck: It was a pos 10 years ago when he bought it for $11,000 . It's pretty much the same now hasn't put a dime into it but it still makes him money. I'm the only one in my company who is allowed to use it . {lucky me]] I used it to unload transformers for the electrician the other day he said what a hunk of crap I said it's better than yours. He said I aint got one , EXACTLY.:drink:

Some people get enamored withe stickers and new stuff. I work on and off again with contractors. They all show up in 60-70k Diesel 3/4 ton trucks with their company stickers on them, and these trucks probably never had anything more than a shovel in them. Which sometimes makes you wonder about these guys business sense as they probably over spent by 30-40k on that truck, something else would get them point a to b. Little do they know they will probably never re-capitalize on that added expense.

Although on the other hand Ive see business' have guys run junk where operators are paid 30-40 an hour plus benefits and monkey around with garbage for an hour or more each day, so in essence that machine cost them at least $500 a week in labor cost not to mention lost productivity.
