We don't need ethonal anymore. We are better off drilling our own oil . We could also sell all the corn we could harvest over seas. This is a much better idea. Here is why. We want countries dependent on us , not the other way around. We can control foolish countries that do something stupid if we control their food supply. I am not one to get on a rant over ethonal and is not quite as bad as we think. It gets slightly less MPG and for every 3 bushels of corn we make into ethanol, we get 1 bushel of distillers grain. We have a very good market to India and China so they can feed their farm animal. It is very high in protein so it is used along less desireable food over seas. Not all bad, but there is corn being grown on land that should be idle land. 2.5 million ac. have seen the plow just in S. Dakota because of ethanol. Wild game has suffered, especially pheasants. We could burn the cobs and stalks for elctricity and use the corn to make chickens and pork for export too. I say get rid of it.
