Engine bogs down????

Lots of questions. Here are the answers I hope.

Does this happen when trying to go forward or back?

Never tried it backwards. Only forwards.

Does your engine bog down when you engage your 60" MMM? If it doesn't that should rule
out engine being the problem.
A little, but not as much as when I try to "take off" in high.

GREG, DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ON THE TRACTOR OTHER THAN A MMM.
YOU SAID THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. HAVE YOU ALWAYS HAD THE
MMM ON WHEN THE WHEELS WOULD SPIN IN HIGH?

No other implements. (no weights either.) I don't recall if the MMM has ALWAYS been on (attached) when the wheels would spin.

Are you sure it's not something silly like the parking break being on?
Also, are you in 4WD and on a paved surface.

I checked the parking brake. I have left it on before. :~< But not this time. Also, not in 4wd and on a dirt drive (path actually)

I took time this morning to "test" this again. Same thing. Thye tractor "bogs" in high but not medium or low. I do do as suggested and eased into the pedal. This worked fine. I can 'hear" or "feel" no other issues either. Appears to run normal and after the initial "bog" runs fine. I will lay off the lead foot for a while and as soon as the grass quits growing, I may take it to Mr.Carver and let him have a look. I am still going to change the fuel and air filter as there was a lot of "grass dust" when I mowed the other day.

Thanks for all the advice. I will let you know if anything significant changes. (or if I end up taking it to the shop.)

My 3710 HST does the same thing if I "floor" it while in high. You have to realize that the engine has much less mechanical advantage while in high versus low or medium. I have hills that I can not go up unless I put it in medium and then it is no problem. If in high I can't even feather the transmission going up some hills but isn't a problem in medium. I really don't think you have a problem other than pushing down on the HST faster than the tractor will allow.

I'm beginning to think you're right. I can't make the tractor tires spin now. All else appears to be fine. No prblems after it gets going etc. If I ease into it, works like a charm. Maybe I was just "lucky" for the first 100+ hours to have the throttle response I had.

My thought is the tractor is lightly loaded with just the MMM. Try this: drive through a puddle and onto a dry paved surface and see if the full width of the tires show in the pattern. If not let some air out until they do. Then make sure the readings in the pressure gage are the same from side to side. If your machine is typical, the tires were overinflated when delivered. A highly crowned overinflated tire spins real easy. SteveV
