If the Ford number was FL1A the FL300 is the short version.

don't know if it makes a difference but fl1a is a ford filter and fl300 is a chrysler filter, both from gas engines........

They both fit a number of Chryslers and Fords.

I have also cross referenced the filter for my NH TC48DA to a Kubota filter. I though it was due to the metric threads for the spin on.

I don't think so in this case. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif The threads are 3/4" - 16 tpi.

FL1 or FL-300 Motorcraft filter; Will it work on a TC-29? 3 cyd. If it does; this thread may save CNH owners big money and increase ease of changing oil due to convienence.

Pretty sure. I believe the block on the 29 is the same as that on my 1720 and my dad is still using the FL300 filiter on that. The FL1A is pretty big and probably overkill, but I know it's probably THE most available filter, and I see no reason it wouldn't work. The seal position and threads are identical between the FL1A, 300, and 400 Motorcraft filters.

My NH Dealer sells a WIX filter 51521 that he cross referenced for me to replace my 87415600 that my TC48DA requires. Its the larger size not the puny little thing NH has gone to. Cost me $4.00 as opposed to the $9.50 for the 87415600 and my thought is that the larger filter would work better. Jim
