I have watched this board for comments on the Enron scandal and the Bush Administration. Nothing so far. They even found one of Enron ex-vice presidents dead in his car this morning. Still nothing from you guys.

I wonder what you would be saying if Bill Clinton was still in the White house or even Al Gore? Never mind, I know what you would be saying.

You are probably a troll but here we go anyway...

How do you know Billy boy and Big Al aren't involved? Enron was an equal opprotunity contributor.

Cause it doesn't affect our expensive habits.... tractoring.

Now, KMart and Quality, Farm, and Family/Central Tractor - that's real news! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Don't know what a troll is and I never said they were not involved. Just was wondering why you are all so silent now when in the past so many of you had so much to say. I am just wondering, not trying to offend any one.

abc,

I never really bothered to think about why Enron wasn't discussed here on the board. So let me give you a Canadian perspective. I don't really care whose campaign they contributed to, nor do I care whether they are dem or rep by and large. It seems to me the executive was self-serving, unethical and/or down right stupid. I would also question how Anderson fits into the whole thing. Seems to me they may have sealed the fate of their company too.

I'm pretty sure most of the folks on this board are ethical folks who would denounce anyone who acts unethically....regardless of which political party they are affiliated with. I've listened to these guys for quite a while now.....I'm pretty sure I'm right on that one.

I would agree with that. That seems to be the difference in Republicans and Democrats now--the Republicans have shown they will participate in the ousting of one of their own when he's a scoundrel (Nixon, Packwood).

I saw none of that from the Dems during the Lewinsky flap.

edit: Left out a key hypothesis--namely, that a majority of tractor owners are Republicans, hence the willingness to denounce unethical behavior in Republicans as well as others. I just don't see the link to any particular administration or party with the Enron collapse. If I thought the Bush administration was involved, I'd be yelling just as loud as if Clinton was still in office. (Well.....maybe not quite.)

ABC,
I think this one was pretty much two -sided. Enron gave heavily to both sides of the fence. You can't blame one without blaming the other one. There's also quite a stretch from what Clinton did to the Enron thing. There's only speculation. What Clinton did there was no speculation on it.

I spent 25 years living just south west of Edmonton on an acreage. Just west of the Botanical gardens.
