Equipment for restoration projects

Hello,
I will be starting a new job soon implementing riparian restoration projects. I am familiar with designing such projects, with plant materials and hand construction methods. I am not as familiar with machinery used in restoration projects, so I thought I would join this group to see if I can learn more about that.

I have seen a spider backhoe working in a stream before, but not much heavy machinery in or along streams otherwise. I'd love to hear from anyone with experience in this area!
