Equipment Knowledge Tests

Hello. i am looking for some sort of knowledge test of sort that i can give workers before they operate a specific type of machine, i.e. bobcat, backhoe, front end loader, etc. does anyone have such a thing? thanks in advance!

Not sure about an equipment specific aptitude test, but I would check with the equipment manufacturer...I think I obtained one for a Komatsu grade-all a few years ago. I've always used a standardized mechanical aptitude to weed out the potential employees who can't and won't ever "get it". It works surprisingly well. You find really quick that there are some people you don't want on your property, much less multi-thousand dollar equipment.

Have you tried your equipment dealer?
They'd most likely have training videos on specific equipment...especially Bobcats or other skid loaders (which, IMHO, are the most dangerous of machines you listed).
Another possible source would be the state university (if you're in a state that has a lot of agriculture).

Roy, your post refreshed my memory...the operator's instructional booklet and video that I obtained for the Komatsu came from one of those Diesel Mechanic Technical schools...somewhere in Tennessee, I believe. He may want to check with one of those, as well.
