Thanks for the heads up. These panels have a UV aging inhibitor, but they will go brittle and yellow eventually.
Under out Health and Safety legislation they are permitted, it is up to the individual to risk assess the situation and ensure that any roof access is done safely.
Working in the construction industry, we would consider this entire roof to be a fragile roof and would require duck boards, edge protection and scaffold before any work could be attempted on such a construction. Fall arrest equipment and safety nets would / may also be required.
The legislation does not apply however to domestic properties and the owner individual.We can disable ourselves if we like. There's no-one else to blame for our stupidity. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Don't worry though. I doubt I will ever be on the roof and certainly not clearing off snow. We've never had any more than 6" in this neck of the woods. If it falls it can stay until it thaws. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
