Each their own ... I love the dove tail.

Corn Pro makes good trailers. Many goose neck trailers have adjustable dovetails. You can raise the dove tail to level to suit your purposes. This is what I would buy in your situation.

Loading equipment on a non dovetail trailer can be a pain. Good luck.

Also check out Moritz trailers. And possible BigTex. I only would recommend Corn Pro from personal experience.
Adjustable dovetail, ie; a beavertail. If you go that route, don't get one like I had years ago. The adjustable tail sat within the frame rails making the tail narrow enough so that hay bails could not be stacked the same as on the regular deck.

I don't know if that is common to beavertails or not?

I know someone who had a gooseneck with 3 ramps on the back that would fold forward to lay flat on the dovetail. he would lay a piece of plywood on top of them and it would end up with a flat deck. He also put a piece of plywood against the legs on the ramps and stack hay against that, then he could run a strap behind it as a brace.

Thats the thing, I'm looking for a between the wheels trailer sense it'll be used for hay. I like the looks of the kaufmans and the price, but the dove is turning me away.

Do you mind a side rail?

The dove tail sure is nice for laoding equipment. what about a filler triangle platform from 2 x 4's and plywood for the hay?

I guess.

Dovetail would serve no useful purpose for me.

Me also. Had one, a 25+5 GN that was rated at 25,000# GVWR. Hated the GN and the DT. Flat low boy bumper pull is now what I have and love it.

Cam Superline makes them in a channel frame up to 25' long:
CAM Superline Inc

They also make angle frames that long but I would be worried about capacity if you are going to load it up with hay bales.

CAM makes a very good trailer. At some point I would also like to get a longer flatbed for hay and equipment.

How much of a pain would it be in fields with trailer like the CAM channel frame above with the 25' deck? I have never used a low deck trailer with a deck over 18'. I would be afraid you could get hung up or the back of the frame would drag too easily over uneven terrain.

Hey guys, I'm starting to look for a new equipment trailer thats 20ft long with 6k or 7k axles. Obviously pretty much any manufacturer makes a trailer like this. But I'm looking for one without a dovetail because this trailer will also be used to haul hay, and I dont want the stack leaning back because of the dove... Anyone know of any manufacturers that make an equipment trailer like this?

PJ Trailers has a popup dovetail option...

Or you can go with their straight deck option with EIGHT FOOT ramps...
