ESAB isn't that hard to re-sell. I've had a few people ask to buy my machine in the past and it wasn't even for sale. I think it's going to depend on your region. Resale value is a tricky thing. Some people consider a resale value according to the actual dollar amount gotten out of it, and others look at the actual percentage of original cost. For example, if you paid 4000.00 for a Miller machine, say a Dynasty 200dx with all the bells and whistles and in 4 years you decide to buy another and you get 2000.00 out of it, some people would consider that a GOOD resale value. But would it really be? Or if you bought a TA 186 but paid less than half for it over the 200DX (18000.00), kept it 4 years and sold it for 1400.00, because they were popular and the cost to replace it had gone up slightly...there are people that would say the resale value was worse, but is that true? No. I paid 1200.00 for my ESAB MIG master 250 NEW in 2002 because it was old stock. I've kept it up...I'm pretty sure I could get what I paid for it.

I think any of the name brand 250 amp single phase MIG machines hold their value really well.

I hate machines which hold their values as I buy USED welders to use, not resell. My ESAB 450i cvcc with Digipulse feeder was a good deal in super clean condition (plus various pneumatic tools and boxes of abrasives) for 1300. I'd not have gotten a similar Miller that cheap as in my area everyone thinks "blue" is gold.

I happily take advantage of the price difference.

My only bought-new machine is a Migmaster 250. Money well spent and I won't be selling it either.
