,. ,,,,,Ample cooling for 100% load.
If running at 100% is a concern I would be looking for a bigger tractor to start with.

Without duplicating what everyone's said, I would add a rear work light.

More lights up front the better but rear is essential to me.
Good one! Only 2 of my tractors have this, and the mental relief using them at nite is almost blissful.

adding to...

either welded on or bolt on bucket hooks. from FEL (front end loader) to backhoe buckets. they need hooks on them for chains / ropes / straps.

small little tool box. with some sort of good lock. such as what many ammo box latchs are like. so the lid stays close. just big enough to hold a hammer, some baling wire, some pins, pair of channel locks, some wire cutters. other words just enough stuff. to limp back to the shed. when something happens. and being able to wire things up. to adjusting the turn buckles on 3pt hitch when they get rather stubborn. to removing pins / inserting pins when hooking stuff up / un-hooking stuff.

return to position for 3pt hitch.

Cool thread. Read all the posts, and there you go- the complete tractor setup! Of course, no everyone needs everything, but at least this is a good starting point for consideration.

I'd add front worklights, the headlights have a hard time with the loader. Also, if the tractor has a clutch, HST pedal (s), and brakes, the clutch and HST should be on the right, the brakes on the left, so you can use them without the cruise control on. Finally, I'd re-emphasize position control, I will never buy a tractor without it.

Now this thread just needs to get to some manufacturers.

I would add a quick hitch for me and cruise control.

And a suspension seat and rear lock diff.

Does a quick hitch work with the telescoping arms. It seems like it would cancel it out.

It will work fine. But the telescoping lower links are just left telescoped in. They are of no significance at that point. To really make the best use of a quick hitch you need hydraulic top link too. So you can line up the top hook better. Of course hooking up on flat ground helps in all cases, quick hitch, telescoping links or solid links.

It totally depends on what you are going to use the tractor to do.

I have not had a FEL since 1979 when I used it to muck out wintering sheds on 163 acres in England. I have not used rear remotes since 1990 when they were needed to put an 18 disc plough into transport mode on a big arable acreage in Australia. Following that in Scotland I needed a cab.

Essentials to me now, supposedly semi-retired on 16 acres with mainly olive trees and some hay ground, are limited to 4wd; diff lock; pto (with live drive); tph; suspension seat and work lights. Headlights are good enough but a decent rear light is needed. I do a lot of spraying, both boom and hand lance, so a cab would be a nuisance. I never work out in wet weather anyway, and it does not become cold enough to need one.

I would like a backhoe (when I would need the hydraulics of course) but do not have enough use to justify buying one.
