Ha ha ha ha!

The published articles most certainly did declare the Hyundai battery was $60k, and only in fine print "Canadian". And in your taking things out of context I clearly referenced it as an extreme. As an example of the media exaggerating and in how you chose to take the media at face value when it suits you.
IT HAPPENED IN CANADA WHAT DO YOU THINK THE CURRENCY IS GOING TO BE !
What kind of ignoramus doesn't understand used parts and cost of installation? MY ARTICLE INCLUDES LABOUR AND NEW PARTS OR AT MINIMUM REFURBISHED....WHAT KIND OF PERSON DOESN'T INCLUDE LABOUR COST ESPECCIALLY ON SUCH A COMPLEX HIGH VOLTAGE TECHNOLOGY !

You forgot the nearly $30k US Chevy Volt battery. DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU PULLED THIS OUT OF YOUR ????....DEFLECTION

Your exaggerations pretend that just because everyone can not charge at home then an EV works for nobody. In your willful blindness you can't seem to comprehend the message is that The Gas Station Model does not work. You've heard me say that like a scratched record yet you come back pretending somehow EV drivers must be "given infrastructure" to charge. You know I rarely use Superchargers and somehow take fault in that. ACTUALLY THE LACK OF INFRASTRUCTURE TO BE ABLE TO CHARGE AT " GAS STATION" TYPE PLACES IS WELL KNOWN ACROSS THE WORLD TO BE ONE OF THE PRIMARY REASONS EV SALES HAVE STALLED. YOUR IGNORING THIS FACT AND ASSUMING MOST EV BATTERIES WON'T NEED TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE THAT TYPE OF CHARGING BIWEEKLY ? IS ONLY REFLECTIVE OF YOUR EARLY ADOPTER FINANCIALLY VIABLE LIFESTYLE. THAT'S ACTUALLY ARROGANT, ON YOUR PART , TO IGNORE THOSE CUSTOMERS !

You pretend ICE transmissions never fail, never degrade, that ICE engines never fail and never degrade, but only EV batteries have that issue. And you pretend an EV battery degrades same as an ICE starter battery. I DON'T REMEMBER EVER TALKING ABOUT TRANSMISSIONS, AND EVER SAYING ICE ENGINES DON'T FAIL OR NEED TO BE REPLACED, BUT WHEN THEY DO, YOUR LOCAL DEALER OR MECHANIC OR DO IT YOURSELF TYPE CAN DO IT, FOR EASILY HALF OF WHAT LABOUR AND A NEW EV BATTERY COSTS. AS FOR DEGRADE OF BATTERY THOSE CAME DIRECTLY FROM THAT UNBIASED LINK AND ALSO THE TESLA OWNERS FORUM COMMENTS . SO YOUR OWN EV FANBOYS.....PLEASE KEEP UP WITH THE FACTS GRUMPY. ;)
MY COMMENTS INSERTED IN CAPITAL LETTERS ABOVE.

I like my ocean. I wouldn't feel the same about other ev's, because they're boring.

Glad it is working well.

I still have to wonder what happens to the functionality of the Ocean if /when Tom Tom is successful in terminating it's software support which it has made a motion for to the court.

Is it just maps or does it include more basic screen and vehicle functions? Will you be dealing with Tom Tom directly as a monthly service?

According to this video @ 1:30 their 'Digital Cockpit' software is used for the climate control Mirror adjustments and more.
Will the seats adjust, heater or air conditioning, door lock unlock, or any charging functions even work when Tom Tom severs their agreement with Fisker?

As far as I know, i get no support through tomtom, only gps services, which i don't use. I can't imagine tomtom's lack of support bricking my ui, only stopping gps.

Sure, they may stop support, but what already exists should not be affected. And they're not providing updates or enhancements. All this stuff works without an internet connection, as I've seen people lose their 4g and still continue to function.

Ok then it must be somewhat like Tesla does it No 4 G needed for basic functions, same deal see cellular service drop outs with the Y sometimes the radio stops if on an online station it would still seem the software that is in charge of memory like mirror position/seat and some others was written by Tom Tom though which may actually be a good thing.

Isn’t that merely a one of thing that can go wrong in a vehicle without any other support?

My University purchased a fleet of EV's a couple of years ago. The director said it was of of the biggest financial mistake they have made. He said that they have had nothing but issues with battery replacements, short ranges in cold weather, etc. He said that nobody will even take one when they call to reserve a car now. They won't be purchasing any more...

100% battery replacement warranty is 8 years for most. The parameters for how bad the battery must be differ. And 100,000 miles for some, 125,000 others.

EV batteries rarely fail outright, just lose capacity. Then they are prime for repurposing such as for PV electricity storage, or time shifting one's home power consumption where TOU rates are outrageous.

When the battery is finally kaput there are many different ventures working on optimal ways to recover the contents. A battery is a much richer source of ore than anything mined from the ground. And another point to make is that the lithium, cobalt, whatever, is not consumed in the battery. The problem is a mostly-reversible chemical reaction for storing power finally gets enough errors that it is no longer a useful chemical reaction.

Good luck in getting any such warranty on an ICE. If they really did last that long you wouldn't have any trouble getting one.
And considering one car mfg offers a 10 yr warranty, good luck getting service and parts in a timely manner, if at all.

Citation required.

I have 2 infusions per week the next 4 weeks, starting last week, 210 miles round trip. Interstate. No need to stop to charge, just to rest as I get tired.

I'm seeing $6500 is the common asking price today.

Who gets warranty on used parts? But then again you are under the false presumption that battery replacement is common.

How much poorer MPG or HP does one have to fall to to get an ICE manufacturer to replace? No matter how much oil it consumed Kia wouldn't replace a friend's lifetime-goodwill-warranted engine until he limped in with a head turning loud metallic knock.

Look who is spinning numbers now.

How much does a new ICE or transmission cost?
Discussing EV's with ignoramuses that don't own or never owned an EV reminds me of this quote:

“Never argue with stupid people. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

I have both the GM Bolt and Tesla Y. My daughter drives the Bolt now but we drove it exclusively until we got our Y.
I like both and probably would like any other EV, depending on costs.
EV's are just so much superior to ICE in almost every metric, but there is a reason the Y is the most sold car in the world!

We will keep that in mind ....but considering you seriously think the earth could be flat.....I think we know what category of person you represent. ;)
