There are millions of poor people who live in apartments where that isn’t a luxury they can afford. So while ev may work for some, it’s not for all.
The $300 beater i drove at 18yo was a $4500 beater when my daughter started to drive

This deer was just standing stationary in the road. And yes humans will do this… I think FSD is hoping to be better than a human
One thing the detractors of FSD skip is how with FSD the human and the FSD should be each other's backup system. Once Upon A Time we used to say, "Two heads are better than one."

maybe not while driving!

I can’t remember if it was Tony Hawk or Ron Wilkerson, but one of them was comparing their high ramp work to their wife’s horse jumping, and concluded riding the half pipe is way safer.

Why? Only one brain involved.

Pretty much all modern cars have this. Except it's called "Lane Assist".

I've shut it off in the vehicles when I drive them.

The car will fight you if your easing over to go around something in the road, or moving over to give room for something on the edge of the road.

The new dodge service truck, you'll lose all feed back randomly when traveling a winding road. My blood pressure couldn't take it

I suppose this is no different than an airliner being flown on autopilot. We disconnect for anomalies all the time. I just hope any Joe Shmoe with a driver's license becomes as adept at it as an airline pilot.

I have a love/hate relationship with the forward collision avoidance system in one of my vehicles that I tend to drive a little more aggressively. When left on, it will often misfire, causing the vehicle to slam on the brakes when I don't want it to. More than once, this has happened while changing lanes in heavy traffic, to move around a car stopped ahead in my lane, almost causing me to be rear-ended.

So, I usually keep the system turned off, but now I'm just waiting for that situation when it would have helped me avoid hitting a deer or rear-ending someone. :ROFLMAO:

Tesla does it better. There is a gentle tug from FSD then it surrenders.

Meanwhile FSD expects gentle tugs from the driver else alarms sound. Don't know for sure, if one continues to ignore FSD parks the car.

Only deer you should be worried about hitting in an airliner would be one of Santa's on Christmas Eve. 😅
