The one have that is getting cranky is cool toaster. My sister gave me it ~ 15 years ago. She asked me what I wanted and I flippantly told her a toaster that you don't have to push the lever down to lower the toast. Pretty neat, but maybe they are all that way now....

I have been on a hot dog with kraut for lunch kick lately. My buns are too big for the toaster so I have to stick my buns in the oven and broil them while I boil my wiener. Since the broiler does not shut off I try not to burn my buns. It is hard to get the timing right between toasting my buns and heating my wiener.

I was once at a guy that deals in generators. He had a truck body he bought from the Government that was a load bank for testing Hospital Generators. Funniest thing I ever saw. It ws jam packed with toasters!

A lot of this (toasters) was discussed here on TBN a couple of years ago...

... the problem with finding that thread is that it wasn't about toasters, it was about email notifications not being received. So, whilst Mohammad/Ibrahim worked on the problem, the thread turned to toasters while waiting. It took a fair bit to fix the problem so quite a number of toasters were talked about.

And every now and then we'd include a 'post' or the line that we still weren't getting email notifications.

I am using a toaster that my Mother got when she opened a savings account. Solid metal, cloth covered cord and built like a tank. I think the account was opened about 60 years ago. I don't care because it still does the toast.

You do know they make refrigerators that have cubed ice, crush ice, water and fresh brewed coffee on the door now so you can have more countertop space for your toaster.

Thanks guys you made my morning with this thread. The more I read the more I have to totally agree. I went through the same thing about 10 years ago, before I finally settled on a B&D toaster. You know the one that says it has wide slots and the cool sides (well plastic), it has been getting my toast ready every morning now for that time and still pops.
I do keep an old timer toaster around, you know the sliver one that only toasts one side at a time and you have to flip the 2 doors down to turn your toast over to do the other side, it has never failed me and is nigh on 30 years old. As basic as it gets but always works.
