Ever have an urge out of nowhere to look up something from the past?

Reading the thread on mice, I got to thinking about predators. One that came to mind was a mongoose. Then a snake. Then the old memories kicked in and I found myself wondering how that infamous rivalry came about. Turns out, it was all about toys.

The announcer over the radio conjured dramatic visions in a voice-over. In the background, you could hear the roar of nitro-burning funny cars, dragsters, and "diggers."

Somewhere in my basement I have Snake and Mongoose Hot Wheels drag race set in the original box.

Not exactly in the same vein but a competition rivalry none the less and from the past...it takes a lot beat Robin Ventura getting pummeled by Nolan Ryan while the latter had the former in a headlock...
...one of the all time best bench clearing dust ups ever in MLB...

...BTW...after that incidence Ventura was known as "Lumpy Venture"...!

I look that one up every few years. Good times. Good times.

Brings back memories. I saw Art Afrons and his 12 cylinder Allison aircraft engine powered "Green Monster" run at the NHRA finals at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds in 1956. It wasn't much off the line, but it was impressive!

Not into drag racing, but Jungle Jim and Jungle Pam were from the town next to mine. They were a familiar sight. A team. She had the amazing body and he was the man behind the wheel.
