Two words: Hack...Saw. lol. Will get it out asap.

I thought hack saw was called a hacksaw, or a hack-saw, but whatever you call it, it is still a lot of WORK!!! However, for a small investment...you can purchase a power hacksaw, that puts all of the work into just paying your electric bill.
I think our friend Woodlandfarms might want to hold off for just a few days on the purchase of one till his Bride gets past the other purchases, lol. The advantage of the power hacksaw over the plasma cutter is simple...you don't have to grind it down to make it smooth.

Its on its way. Mark called and got me on the hot list. Very cool. It arrives before my wife comes back from her movie so I can get it in the garage and it becomes 'what? that old thing?"

woodlandfarms: You will absolutely be astounded by the versatility and usefulness of a plasma cutter (when it arrives). It will be a "What else can it cut???" experience.

If you have cut before using a O/A cutting torch, there will be no comparison.

IMPORTANT:
Clean and dry air (and lots of it) is essential to operating a plasma cutter. Look into air dryers or air filter/dryers. Don't go with a cheap inline little one - it messes with the pressure. This one is very popular with those with plasma cutters:

Amazon.com: Motor Guard M-60 1/2 NPT Submicronic Compressed Air Filter: Home Improvement

Just another thing to hide from the wife.

Clean and dry air may not be so much of an issue in Los Angeles, but in SW Washington it will be a problem.

Make sure to throw some dirt/dust on it before you say it. Works every time... <grin>

This is what I did for my plaz -

The yellow thingy is this

Astro Pneumatic 2618 Air Control Unit, 120cfm Capacity - Air Compressor Accessories - Amazon.com

The black thingy is per Woodlandfarms' link.

The astro filter is a "pre" filter, I keep the drain cock just slightly "cracked" during use - air is connected ONLY when I'm using the plaz.

So far I've cut about 150 feet or so, varying from 16 gauge to 3/4" stock - still on original set of consumables, still look nearly new... Steve
