have you guys made any videos with your units showing how to use with the features and such? that panel looks intimidating for the non professional.
also what is synergistic mig mode vs standard?
will the PowerMTS 211Si weld thin material as its not the ST?
does the DC tig mode only make a diff. in aluminum or AC works better for steel too

From the Lincoln site:
Pulsed MIG welding has evolved quite a bit since it was first introduced to the marketplace. In the 1980s, it was a highly complex process that could only be performed by the most skilled welders. That was because the operator would have to know exactly how to set the machine for the correct wire feed speed to perform this type of welding. Today, this is all done for him or her as part of the synergic control. When the operator adjusts wire feed speed, the synergic operation adjusts the waveshape and frequency automatically.

The synergic operation of the machine makes it easy to use, even for the beginning welder, with a single knob that controls all operations. In addition, its sophisticated internal electronics are even “adaptive” to adjust for variations in stickout, gap or the torch angle.

Lastly, you don't want to use AC for steel unless you are doing something very specialized or you are a glutten for punishment. It is hard to start the arc and doesn't result in welds that are as nicely finished as DC unless you are fairly skilled. The welds can be as strong, but it is a good bit more difficult to weld with.

I've been at the SEMA show all week. Just in the hotel catching up on things when I saw this.

A few things.
Yes, there will be videos forth coming. But a few weeks.

I am not really
sure what you mean by ST? All our MTS units are stick/tig as well. That is what MTS means.
Also, not sure what you mean by your last stament.

I think the panel is far less intimidating than you think. Just study it. It is logical and easy to follow...or at least that is what many customers tell me after they look at it for a while.

Synergic has nothing to do with Pulse, not in the sense it has to be Synergic if it is Pulse, and if it is Synergic it is pulse. Pulse can be synergic, but not necessarily. This is written from Lincoln's perspective and pulse types that they employ. It is not necessarily the best idea to extend their information "universally".

What Synergic is: It is a way of programming the machine to take into account certain user defined settings and presetting a useable volt/amp setting based off the parameters that were fed into the machine by the user.

What it is Not: It is not some magical program that can take into account every variable, or "automatically" detect the wire size, metal thickness or gas blend to set the volts/amps.

Synergic in our unit means you take into account wire diameter and wire type and the unit will set a defined ratio of volts to amps, and control over these can be accomplished simultaneously while adjusting only one knob. Very similar to Auto Set from Miller, but more advanced. The preset can be overidden anytime to make readjustments to the volt amp ratio. The unit will remember this re adjustment throughout the range and preserve the newly set ratio.
...Until you turn it off. Save it first if want to remember it later after the unit is shut down.

Sent you a PM regarding an iMig 200.

Mark,

How are warranty issues handled? If my machine goes down in 6mo, or 4.5yrs, is it shipped back to you at my cost? What is the average repair time and where are repairs completed?

I'm interested in the 211si. But complexity tends to bring about more issues, in my experience. Hence, I'd like to understand how these issues are handled.

I'm in Kentucky.

Thanks

(My experience last year). A capacitor split apart and shot smoke out of my 140 mig welder. A new board was on my doorstep a few days later, Mark had told me it was a 15 minute job, it took me about 20 and I'm rather proficient at such work. I'm positive I could change out another one in about 10 minutes.

Thanks for the question. It is shipped back at your cost. However, the first thirty days are on us if anything were to happen. This is the typical time frame of most issues. Keep in mind this is the standard conditions of most all welder companies and that parts and labor are covered under the warranty, if repaired at our approved facility. Average repair time varies seasonally and is dependent upon what happened. The unit would be sent back to E. TN for repair if needed. The unit internally is not that complex, at least for repair.. The only additional circuits that I am aware of is the HF start. This does mean that you could likely avoid the downtime of having to send it in IF you feel like you can handle the repair, and of course the components would be covered regardless.

Thank you Mark. I appreciate it. And given I am in Northeastern KY, Eastern TN isn't that far of a jaunt.

What is the delivery time on 211si, 251si, and i-MIG 230i?

Also, is there an option to get a longer MIG cable? I am uncertain, but I think that the standard is 3m, which really won't work for what I need. I'd need at least a 5m cable.

I'd also like to order consumables up front.

If you would PM me a quote and expected time for delivery for the above welders with 5m MIG cables, and an 'array' of typically used consumables I'd appreciate it. I say 'Array' because quite frankly, I am not certain what I would need for standard welding. And I'd like to have a variety so, should I need something, I have it available, until I learn the machine and what I use/need for my welding uses. Probably a variety of MIG and TIG tips and electrodes used most often.

Delivery to 40383

230i is in stock. We also have the 251si in stock, but low qty. The 211si is out. But should be about 6 days delivery time from day of order to your area on items in stock. Will pm you later (garden activities today...just stopped for a quick break). Keep in mind the 211si is smaller and only holds a 8" spool.

So, no 211si? Is that correct?

Will you please PM me with quote as above, to 40383
