Rear Blade Everything Attachments Land leveler Review

/ Everything Attachments Land leveler Review #21
I have 4 ft, 6 ft is a lot of frost, the roads are pretty bad, I can't open two buildings right now, it's a pain..

We have little snow cover and colder than average temps which drives the frost deeper. I work at a surface coal mine so we have to constantly rip frost ahead of the draglines and excavators and anything else moving dirt with cat D11 and D10's.
The more snow cover there is it insulates the ground so the frost doesn't go quite as deep plus the amount of moisture in the ground makes a big difference too which changes things up from year to year.

The more you drive heavy equipment over frozen ground the deeper the frost.
In November all I do is hope it doesn’t snow before the ground freezes.

Smokeydog I enjoyed your success story. I too enjoy and appreciate the huge benefit that a LPGS (land plane grading scraper) can offer the road maintainer when he adds one to his arsenal of tools.:thumbsup:

The driveway and I have almost a 50 year history together. Have learned what not to do as much as what works. We live winters in a constant freeze, thaw, rain cycle, on a hillside, facings north, thru the woods ie green tunnel. Don’t know if I fully understand all the dynamics of what the land leveler does, but see a remarkable improvement in driveway maintenance. When I used a grader blade for maintenance, 95% of the time the blade was pulled backwards to smooth and gently pull gravel back into place. The land leveler simply does this better with blades facing forward.

I plan to buy one of these when I get some cash in my pocket. My steep access road has never been perfect, but a box blade smooths out the ruts after gully washers come through.

I think the land leveler looks like it will do a much better job than my little 6 foot box blade, especially if it will help me keep a crown in the road. My soil is very rocky, but keeping limestone gravel from washing out and down the hill is impossible.

You won't be sorry! It will do a much better job than the box blade and sooooo much easier.

In the EA Channel Group, we have some guys who are serious about driveway maintenance because they're in the business. Jason from Ohio has provided TONS of feedback and pics of his EA land plane and I'm proud to pass it along. He has our 72" model with ripper shanks on his John Deere 3046R.

"Got my new 72 Everything Land Plane recently and couldn't be happier. I own another brand and my family has welded our own land planes in the past. Hands down without even a close second the best built land plane I have ever seen is the Everything Attachments land planes.
Couple things I looked for in a new land plane:
Tall sides to handle lots of material
Replaceable runners (yes I wear them out annually, but my use is 200-300 driveways a year averaging about 500?
Available spare blades, runners, rippers, bolts etc.
Rippers (be careful using them, see my tips below)
Thick steel/heavy duty
Weight is your friend and if built heavy duty, you get a benefit of less chatter with more weight
Extreme compound angle of blades (other use less of an angle, it' like a good steak knife sawing into a steak?
Green paint for extra hp
All welded construction, not bolted together (some companies care more about breaking them down for shipping than they do building them right, I notice a lot of 3pt setups bolt onto the land plane, junk...)
My family has 3 miles of privately owned driveway and I've been maintaining it since I was a kid. I also have a small excavating business and repair and install new gravel driveways in the central Ohio area. I have more time than I would like to admit with land plane hooked to the back of a tractor. I average about 200-300 driveways a year averaging about 500 each and we have good hard limestone in my area.
Ted and Peanut do a great job in their videos explaining how they were designed and built and how to use the land plane on your gravel lane. If anyone has any questions about how to use them, I would be glad to help, either send me a private message or ask away. This is in no way a paid endorsement, I paid full price for my Everything Attachments land plane and just wanted to help anyone on the fence about ordering one from these guys vs buying local, my advice is BUY FROM THESE GUYS. Forget wrapping it in the loan of your new tractor, I get it... low financing and all, it's not worth paying more locally and getting less quality and engineering than you can get from Everything.
Couple land plane tips for folks:
-Size it proportional to your tractor, hills eat up horsepower and the amount and size of your stone can take additional horsepower. For example I have a 1025R and use a 60 land plane it's okay for flat ground, but if you have hills you may back it down in size, also the sub compacts have weaker 3pt hitch components and wider land planes increase wear and tear, I've broke lots of stuff on my 3pt on the 1025R... I use a 72 land plane behind my 3046R and similar to the above scenario it can be bogged down in hills, but generally speaking is well within proportions. The folks at Everything are great and helping you size implements for your tractor, just bear in mind your scenario and if on the fence and you have hills, opt for the smaller land plane."

I probably have more words of wisdom from Jason and others, so I'll try to dig(pun, yeah) some more up for you guys!

I hope you enjoyed the insight.

Nice pictures. On my 140 acre farm the only level ground is where I make it. To re-rock my driveway costs more than land leveler. The land leveler recovers existing gravel and builds a base that takes less maintenance. 330’ elevation change in 1/2 mile. Getting water off the driveway is essential. When it is steeper it requires a precision grade. I don’t get the ruts like I use to. Doesn’t require constant adjustments like a grader blade or box blade. Drop, pull and go. My skids were showing considerable more wear on front so adjusted top link longer. Skids are replaceable but not of abrasion resistant steel??? Might have to reverse, replace or add hard surfacing rod.

I am looking forward to before and after pics of the couple roads I am going to tackle in the spring, one has severe wash boards that nobody has been able to cut out and the other was a road i rebuilt with a box scraper, it was washed out and dished in the middle, i filled the washouts and got crown back into it but with the box scraper it developed several moguls that got worse with every pass and no matter what i did with the box scraper they just got worse and worse so i quit before the dirt bike gang wanted to set up a course lol. wanting to get those cut back down to level and hoping the land leveler works for that.

Every post has lots of pics that are perfectly level roads to start with and just freshly fluffed gravel, I want actual real road repair on hard packed gravel roads with humps and or video showing how well washboards are cut out not just a face lift pics.
