Hi Mike, yes, it was about time I posted. (*I* got the joke! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

Mike was the guy who referred me to the dealer, BTW.

We are expecting an icy storm this Friday... the day the dealer was supposed to deliver, of course. Should have the machine early next week at the latest.

I do have a digital camera (I read the rules! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) and will have some images to share once she arrive. Yes, I'm already calling it "she". I'm hopeless! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I am curious about the heavy duty alternator, what will the tractor be doing that you would need that?

Working at night and shedding some light on the matter... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I bought the HD alternator just in case I would add work lights. 4 55-watt lights would draw about 20 amps...so the 40 amp HD alternator will not be over worked if I have them all on at the same time... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

RobMA,

Looks like you did not get a mower with the BX23...

Can't guess why you might not have from your profile... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Curious...if not...why not? The bx tractor is a pretty good mowing machine... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just ordered a 23 and you have a good point. During the summer months I tend to work into the dark around the yard. Some extra lighting might be a good thing. Also with the blower attachment working at night. I think you may have talked me into it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks.

Why? Because I am trying to limit my lawn by adding gardens. I've got 13 acres here and I made myself a promise that I would not have more lawn than I can mow in less than 30 minutes.

I really bought the tractor to "rearrange" my property. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Its a new house so there are LOTS of landscaping project on the horizon.

I've got to snowplow about 1000 feet of driveway and private road. The winter the days are short and it gets dark quickly when I get home from work. (No street lights out here!) So, I'm going to need extra lighting on the tractor. Especially since at the end of my private road there is a bad curve at the intersection. I've got lots of clean up work at that location and I'd like to be lit up pretty good so I don't become roadkill.

Besides, it was a cheap option that I'd probably someday regret not getting. I ordered everything I expected to need rather than add it on later. I may not have "domestic permission" later on. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

When I was spec'ing out my baby, I tried to consider all the uses I would have for it. Thanks to all the info I gleaned from the friendly folks and advice here, I believe I got almost everything I'll need.

The HD alternator was one of the items many owners here said they wished they had gotten. I like to light up my work area so this option will not go unused.

The only additional item I may want would be wheel weights but I'm waiting to see if those will be really necessary. I'll probably get the EZ Weights since the Kubota weights are only 53 pounds and much of what I've read here on TBN seems to lean toward that not being enough. So, I'm waiting to see if they will be really necessary before buying them.
