Looking at compaction wheels for sale, does anyone have experience using these?

Woods Equipment Company - Tractor Loader Backhoe Attachments

I will be using it to compact gravel for slab foundations and gravel driveways and probably eventually dirt. I will mount it to a John deere 410 heavy loader/backhoe.

So do these work well for what I will be using it for, or am I better off gettting a jumping jack vibrating tamper?

Thanks!

I have one. It's a Gannon. I don't use it often, but I do use it for trench compaction more than open areas and dirt than stone/slab prep. They work fine except in mud/clay where they get fouled up. They do a great job of getting rid of air pockets.

I'm going to be doing some driveway & foundation work with mine in about a month or 2. I would use a rammax rolling vibratory remote control tamper for tamping stone before concrete, not a compaction wheel. I use a jumping jack in the trenches around the perimeter where the rammax can't reach.
