Did they ask to see you maintenance records like they did to the OP?

nope. no questions asked. they even decided to replace the whole front diff at a slightly higher cost instead of having them replace just the bearing. They paid for a tire sensor too. never thought that would be covered. GMC truck with a ford warranty bought from a ford dealer.

i just paid 300 bucks for over 5k worth of work, warranty paid for it self almost double at over 100k miles. pinion bearing, radiator and transmission cooler lines. I get them, as long as its manufacture backed. have not gone wrong on it yet.

I'm thinking maybe you need to change brands. :D

I was typing while you were typing....

Maybe you still need to change brands. :D

I think that is the key, it needs to be a manufacturer's warranty not a aftermarket warranty that actually be useful.

meh, its the only work that has been done to the truck in the last 40k miles. Its not babied, been over weight on occasion, slide in camper over some rough trails. towing in the mountains. None of those things are totally out of line for over 100k miles. the Rad leak was so small the tech had to get a flashlight out to show me the spot, the trans cooler lines were leaking enough to stick some dust to the crimp end. They have gotten pretty toasty a time or 2. i knew about the trans lines just decided to get it all taken care of if the warranty people could bear it when the pinion bearing was humming.

yes, i think the key here is a manufacture based warranty.

I had it towed to the dealer. They told me the starter was bad and is not covered by the powertrain warranty.
I called our local dealer, service manager wasn't sure. I called Hyundai, 800-633-5151, they said each dealer is franchised and have their own rules.
Weirdest thing I've ever heard, but their suggestion was call Hyundai since you're the original owner, maybe another dealer would rule differently. Who knows...may be worth a try.

My first new car I bought when I was 19...a 1972 Toyota Celica ST. At 16,000 miles it would hardly run. Dealer said no warranty. I pulled head, took to a machine shop where they replaced valves and seats. Then as couple weeks later I got a recall notice from Toyota. I that and all my receipts back to dealer. They refused reimbursement since they didn't do the work.
I've never and never will buy another Toyota.

Home warranties, and vehicle warranties have share the same language. Restrictions and exclusions apply.
There was a lady they did a special on the news. She had Choice home warranty. Even though her plan stated they covered water heater replacement . Choice denied the claim.
After the news got involved. Choice agreed to give the woman $500.00 toward the water heater replacement.
My thoughts were. A water heater is probably $800.00 plus paying for an install. She will be out at least $1300.00 out of her own pocket, even though she had a warranty that stated they would cover it.

A guy that lives up the road had a well pump go out. He called his home warranty. They told him they didn't have a provider in his area. Told him to call someone, pay them and summit the bill and they would review the charges before sending him a check !

Those that have had good luck with an extended warranty can consider yourselves very lucky, as there are hundreds more that aren't

Seen similar as it is easy to deny knowing some will drop out.

However, a small claims action often is all that is needed to change the situation to favorable.

I’ve helped friends where simply the action of being served was enough to settle

One of the top selling Brokers... top 2 percent, had a call from a client about a denied water heater claim. The Broker made a call and said take care of this or my office will never sell another policy from your company.

The truth is it is often work to achieve success.
