Extra fees for financing added to the quoted price

Boy, some will walk out on a tractor they wanted over $150.00? I don’t get that thought process.

I have walked out when buying cars and trucks over less than 50 dollars and always found a better deal elsewhere that saved me more than 500 after doing so!

Some folks just don’t negotiate very well and get caught up in the sales tricks!

Those extra fees tacked on after the deal is done are a handy way to separate the good dealers we'd like to support from the ones we wish we had never met.
When a dealer acts that way selling a new machine to a first time customer, it says a lot about what to expect for warranty and repair work.

Sometimes it's just too easy.....

Walked on a Ranger Lariat last week. Sales guy emailed a price I liked late in the day. Asked me to apply for the loan and sent a link to the application. Later that night I click the link to find the price (not fees, taxes, registration, THE PRICE) of the vehicle was $1300 higher on the contract than the quote. I called him on it and he said it was the best he could do. Needless to say that truck is still in his inventory.

That is all well, and good, but often dealers are trying to play a rather different game.
Maybe their game won't work on you, but it OFTEN does work on others.
I suspect you may respond that you don't care about what others do, or don't do.

You are correct, the dealers play this game to increase their $$$. Same idea as those how negotiate based on a payment, not the grand total.

If someone is very sensitive to not paying any "extra" fees you have to call the the dealer out at the start. Last vehicle I bought I just stated before talking $$$: I don't care how much the admin fee is, the UFO insurance, The tire inflation charge etc, The bottom line must be X.

No thought process required at all.
Dealer wants to change the rules,..... at the end of the negotiating process?
He is SLEEZY/DISHONEST!
I refuse to play HIS game, at ANY price!

There are ALWAYS other buying options,..... elsewhere.

I can see that. Adding nickle and dime fees after the final quote is something I would push back on as well. I did have a tractor dealer call me wanting to adjust the amount we agreed on for my tractor for a trade in. All I said is I liked the agreement we had in a firm but respectful tone. So, to buying options in N.E. Wyoming.....yeah, there are slim to none within a 200 mile radius of me.

Just for the heck of it I went and pulled out my receipt for my tractor. It was as follows

Tractor price, loader price, rimguard price, added rear remote price, added front hydraulic hose for plow, sales tax.

No fees listed. Maybe cause it was a cash deal.

I've seen this kind of thing and its dealer making more money. Just say no and walk

I don't know about that one, But I would tell they to take 400.00 off the price of the tractor, They are like car dealers always tacking fee's on.........

I've never paid a one of these fees. I tell them that the charge is news to me and I need to think about everything now. All cancelled the charge immediately after that but one let me leave. I bought from someone else and boy, was he surprised.

This is the only way to go about it. I say to give me an out the door price with no jerking around because that just makes me shop elsewhere. They keep trying to add fees and I've switched dealers over it. I tell the new dealer to remember how we met.
