NH 45 A (2006)
I was working this evening with a subsoiler and I noticed that I can't see a thing in the back when it get dark and the same up front with the loader on. Are there any optional lights that NH sells or are there any good 3rd party providers of lights?

You can buy lights are Walmart and other box stores. What I did was buy magnet mounts for mine and then I can move them around and point different directions. When the loader is off I can take the lights off to if I wish. I hang them underneath the ROPS so they don't get knocked off. The magnet mounts I mail ordered them in. The magnets are actually grounding magnets.

Mags

The above link is the magnets I used but did not buy them from this company. I only paid about $15.00 for the set. I just can't remember the place I bought them from but the place is mentioned here on TBN many times.

I agree with thcri as to light availability. You can also get good lights through the various mail order companies like Harbor Freight, etc. I saw a magnetic based halogen unit with a jack to plug into a cigarette lighter type outlet at TSC. I do not know anything about your 45A, but the TC's come with one electrical oulet under the seat and two leads that can be used for lighting. There was a great thread here on TBN I believe it was in the Parts & Repairs Forum a couple of months ago. Jay

NH has an optional rear halogen light which is a must to see in back of you.

Here's what I have installed on my tractor. The same set of lights are on the left side.

Each set of lights are on separate switches. The rear facing square lights are connected to the factory work light wiring. I ran a separate, fused circuit for the oval ones that face front when the ROPS is up and can be aimed to shoot out above the FEL. Invaluable when plowing snow in the dark, not to mention making the tractor easier to be seen when on the road. The rear facing lights can be angled to illuminate the area behind the tractor, including the 3ph.

The square lights are attached, with a bracket, to the same bolt that holds the orange lights to the tractor. The oval lights are attached with square U bolts I painted black to match the ROPS.

Both sets of lights are actually aftermarket automotive lights.

I just ran across some lights in the latest Harbor Frieght catalog. I already have some mounted on my ROPS and a rear facing light on the frame so I want to use them on my golf cart. 2 for $7.49 incl wiring and switches. Item 37349-5CJB.

You also need to purchase the mounting bracket, and you have to be creative on how you mount the bracket to the ROPS. I ran a smaller diameter stainless machine screw/bolt through the welded on "mounting" nut on the ROPS and bolted it in behind the welded-in nut. In my initial purchase "exhuberance" I also bought two lights and brackets. The bracket is "right handed", but it really does not matter. I have plenty of rear lighting now :D! At some point I am going to attach lights to my FOPS. Jay

I was having a hard time remembering who I bought the magnetic mounts from. I purchased them from Harbor Freight. I have them set up so if facing forward they are pointed just above the loader. I can also face them back and they point almost right to the ground. I have two of them so I can even have one facing forward and one facing backward or both one direction.

Murph, can you tell me how you wired your lights up? Do you have a separate switch on the dash? I have realized that some additional lighting would be advantagous as well. Thanks.
