Just put this on....don't know if it will help me in my work on leveling out my Barn site, but hope so. I would think it should help me with the brush and also small roots.

The toothbar came from the factory painted CAT yellow....I had to change that fast. Got some spraypaint and did a little cosmetic surgery. One last shot....

Looks great, where did you get it and what did it cost? It looks like it swivels up, is that correct?
Happy Tractoring

PS: What sizes does it come in?

Looks great,

That brush doesn's stand a chance. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Did that come from the H & H sales that you mentioned earlier? What length did you have them make it at?
I think we have close to the same bucket. My bucket is wedged shaped, wider at the front, the front is around 66 1/4 inches and back where you would bolt it is under 66 inches. Yours looks like it fits great!

Chipperman, I've been thinking about the advantages of the toothbar especially in what I am getting ready to work on...and then saw a post by Henro, showing this website ....www.ezattachments.com. This is a site for H & H sales and mfg (Greenbay WI). I went to their website and found a dealer that was 20 miles away...but people there hadn't heard of this company...(guess the dealer listing was out of date). Anyway, I asked my tractor dealer Dave to check into it for me. I priced some woods toothbars, etc in the 325 range... (others on TBN have gotten them cheaper). These had 7 teeth I think. The Landscaper bar caught my eye, since it seems like it would be handier with small roots, brush , small rocks....and also making more of a finished grade. Anyway, it has 18 teeth !! That's a lot of welds. I shelled out $450. This may be pricey...I assume my dealer Dave got something for his trouble. I had to drill a 1 " hole on each side....and didn't have a drill bit that size. My dealer Dave just handed me a 1/2 inch chuck drill with a 1 " drill bit and said " take this home with you". The bar doesn't flip up (hole is not slotted) , so if you want it off, just unbolt it. All you do is send them the inside dimension of your bucket. They custom make to fit....leaving about 1/4 inch shy on each side....which insures you can fit it in easily. You can bend the wings to the sides when you bolt it down. The paint job was not too great, and wrong color for me, so I grabbed a can of paint and changed it. I guess I will be knocking off the paint anyway. Was rainy here this week, so won't get a chance to try it until it drys out some.

Duane, they give you 1/4 inch on each side ( 1/2 total from your inside bucket measurement) to play with. The side wings can be bent to touch the inside of the bucket by just tightening down the bolts. Looking forward to trying it out...maybe give a review. I was shocked to get it delivered in a week.

Doug, It's probably not fair for me to comment between the 2 since I haven't ever tried the bar with 7 - 8 teeth. I used mine on small saplings and also cutting in a road where I had to cut into a bank about a foot deep. I found that it wanted to dig real well, and took me awhile to get the right place on my level indicator calibrated so that I had just the right angle and didn't dig in too quick. I've used it to knock down some bumps in my gravel drive...when I had the backhoe on. I just tilt it down some, then backdrag. We have a hilly drive with a sharp turn and seems like one of our vehicles is bad about getting wheel hop...and dishing out the gravel...so I've used it to backdrag the wheel hop bumps. It is somewhat like running a comb through the gravel. Backdragging on dirt works pretty well also. I only have a couple inches between teeth...so it will snag up small saplings/roots pretty well. I am sure there are advantages for the other bar as well...where you have 9-10 inches between teeth. That would give you a larger area to use for pushing trees in the 7-8 inch range. ( OK dealers...you can wince at that one...yep, we think they are bulldozers sometimes). One thing I like about the ezattachment bars is that they have 2 strips of metal welded into a V shape which sandwiches your cutting edge and gives more overall strength. The 18 tooth bar is going to run you 1/3 more in cost. More teeth = more things to bump into. Since I am hair challenged.....and tend to run into things with my bald head....I am waiting for the day my bucket is up in the air and I accidentally turn into it. I assure you it is not a matter of "if" but only when. Least I haven't run into any buildings or cars with it yet. But don't teach your wife how to use the fel controls...as it would make a mighty good weapon....and well if you've loaded up on the life insurance policies...you are in double trouble. Your neck would fit between the teeth on a regular bar, maybe buying you a few minutes....but with only 2 inches between the teeth on my bar...I haven't got a prayer.

Hey Duane,

Have you had a chance to try out your toothbar yet?

Yea I have.

I bought a 66" Woods toothbar from dancce who owns Creek County Equipment.

I drilled the holes with a metal holesaw without too much problem. Since the Century bucket gets skinnier as it goes back, to aide in dumping out dirt, I had to bend the tabs a little to follow the walls, ended up fitting really well.

After installing the toothbar, I loaded up the tractor and headed out to the land. I have been clearing some rocks from the future home site. Their was one stubborn rock that I have been fighting for a while. Too make a long story short the teeth is what I needed to get that rock out after a short battle. You could only see about 3 inches of the rock above the ground when I started but it left a really large hole once I got it out.

The teeth do a great job of splitting the smaller rocks just below ground level. I have also used it a lot for the typical brush moving and it works great to get a good grip on those stubborn stumps and allows you to carry alot more brush.

I Ripped out about 250 feet of fence in one grab. Talk about a time saver!!

I have not done a lot of digging with it yet, but the digging I have done was in a spot below my lake that was pretty hard clay that I tried to dig at before but the going was to slow, with the teeth it cuts right through it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

So I have to say it was well worth the $295 and suggest one to anybody who does any front loader work. Plus it makes the Century look mean!!

Glad to hear that the toothbar is fulfilling a need for you. Having been a Woods dealer for only a little over a year---I was not really familiar with this usefull tool, until I read posts about them here on TBN. ( I will be installing one soon on my own tractor---90hp Zetor)
Tractors are nice and useful machines for many reasons---but the attachments one gets for them are the key to making them more useful and cost effective. (Most of us would do well to use this line with our CFO's) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I am in the process of testing a hydraulic tree trimmer that attaches to a loader bucket or loader hay spear that will sell for less than 1/3 the cost of a ground level tree shear.I will be including it soon on our web site ---as soon as I am convinced that the bugs are worked out .At this stage I feel that it will be something most everyone can use and justify from a "return on investment basis"
I am a firm believer that the right attachments make the tractor purchase more cost effective--if the "roi" numbers look good.

Thanks, Duane, for your comments---and thanks for your purchases.

Hi Pete,
I was looking at the bar you purchased from H&H and I liked the v-notch idea over the usual type that has a single flat bar on top of bucket edge.
Since you've had this style for awhile, does the part of "v" channel that I assume sticks out on botton create any problems when backing away or backblading? Are these the same size teeth they use on the regular toothbar? Would you know how tall is the mouth of "v" and where it slips on your factory edge how wide is gap on top and bottom of factory edge? Any further pro and con on wide space teeth and your style?
Thanks,
TP

TP.... If I get a chance this week , or maybe on the weekend, I will try to take some close up shots so you can see how it fits my bucket. There is no problem with the bottom of the V , eg when back dragging. I think this design makes a stronger edge for your bucket. I can't compare to the bars with less teeth since I have never had one. I believe the teeth are the same size as the ones on their regular bars ...just spaced closer together. I'll try to get back with some more pictures..... later

sassafraspete,

Now I'm envious of you. Sure like the looks of that toothbar. I need to make a big pile of dirt and since I have the same tractor maybe I need one to keep up with the rest of you's.

Does it make digging much easier?

Now you need to beef up your grill guard so you don't crack that plastic grill again or almost again like I did.

Have a good one,
Ron

Did you buy yours from H & H sales? I also went to their site http://www.ezattachments.com/ and looked for a dealer near me.

Called 3 up about 70 miles away and they said no can do...will only sell for heavy equipment...not for a Branson compact. ???? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Did your Branson dealer get it for you? Just curious since I can't seem to find one. Calling a couple other places tomorrow. TIA
Have a good one.

Oops , I forgot to take some close up pictures of my tooth bar. I will have to wash it up first though....as I have some mud caked on it.

Ron, my Branson dealer is a great guy. I told him I wanted one and I guess he called them up and became a dealer for H&H so he could order me one.

Hey Pete, nice job /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Branson 4020's aren't bulldozers???? I thought they were? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually a storm dropped this tree but my Branson will clean it up and fix the fence.

Pete H&H Sales will only sell to dealers...so like you my dealer called them and ordered one which then automatically makes him a dealer for them. They said 3 days and it will be shipped directly to me. They bill my dealer and I then pay him.

Sure hope I gave them the right measurements... 65 3/8. Does that sound like what yours was?

I think you should get a commission from H & H for posting your toothbar. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Now my dealer might be selling more.

Off to the woods to clean up storm damage.
Have a good one,
Ron

Ron, that is a pretty good sized tree. I see lumber....what do you see? firewood? Oh , to have a portable bandsaw mill.

Glad to hear you have a landscaper bar on the way. Sounds like you have a good dealer to work with too. You will want to stock up on some black paint, unless you like Cat yellow. I haven't had mine off since I put it on the bucket.

It will be interesting to see what you think of it. You will need a way to bore the hole for mounting. My dealer loaned me a heavy duty drill and the drill bit , and it didn't take me long to mount it. By the looks of your handiwork on the front grill, I am guessing you already have the tools to do the hole. Maybe you can take pictures step by step for others. I still keep forgetting to take some closeups for others on this board who wanted to see how the V bar fits to the bucket. Maybe you can do one of those. Keep us updated on the progress.
