John Deere owner since 2004. The mower has a 72" deck and serves us well.
Last year it became hard to start. It was dealer serviced last year, fuel lines, pickup tubes, lines blown, but the problem persisted until I decided to install a electric pump, Mr. Gasket type, 4 - 7 PSI. The tractor started right up and ran all last seacon without any trouble.
This year started out fine. I cut 2 acres and then the mower started to loose power. I shut it down and took a short break. After 30 minutes or so the mower started up and I cut another acre until it lost power again. I turned it off and waiting 1 -2 minutes. It started and ran with full power but after 10 minutes it lost power again. I suspect the electric pump is loosing pressure.
I asked the dealer to look into a replacement mechanical pump.

Still sounds like a plugged fuel line or pickup. The extra boost from the add-on pump just gave you some extra time.

Has the tank collapsed at all? Tank breather plugged? Sucking air?

You obviously need to check fuel pump pressure and flow. Disconnect the pump/filter output (or open the filter valve) and bleed it back into the tank. See how long it can do that without burping.

Try hanging a fuel IV line from the rops and see if that supply system can keep the motor going. If so ...

Welcome - have you tested the pressure? Need to install test tee or gauge in line to verify what is happenning when the engine looses power.

Thank you for the info. I just ordered a new mechanical pump replacement from the dealer. I am planning to install a pressure gauge, and manual on/off switch for the electric pump for starting only.
I will check the filter valve and fuel lines as well.

Welcome to the forum from Oklahoma. If the fuel cap is easily acessible, next time it starts losing power loosen the cap and see if that helps. If it does help then you have a tank vent problem. I'm not familiar with your mower but the vent is probably in the cap.
