That's better than my older 07 Chevy 6.0 gets. I'll average 11-12 empty and 8-9 pulling a 14' covered trailer. It is a 2500HD with 4.10 gearing.
I've had two diesels, '95 Dodge and an '04 Duramax, both did around 20mpg rural driving and about 23 on trips (empty). Pulling a 3-horse gooseneck it dropped to about 12mpg. I'm surprised that the new diesels are not doing better, what gives?
